Flying to Wilson's Promontory

Just after any information on flying down to Wilson's Promontory for a few days of camping. I have read that there is an airfield down at Tidal River, and the Victorian Country airstrip directory confirms this, just wondering if anyone has actually flown in there and what the strip conditions are like.

I'm hoping to get as close as possible to the Prom so we can set up camp at one of the caravan parks, and not have to land at Yarram or Leongatha and find another way down.

Any ideas/suggestions/comments?

Thanks in advance

Gday V1

If my memory serves me right the Tidal River strip was the beach at low tide, there is a strip about 5 miles north but only for emergency use, the last time I checked it out it was covered in kangeroos, that was some time ago, best contact the rangers office at the prom before setting out.
