Flying to New Caledonia

Hi all

One day I'd like to go to New Caledonia. Obviously the choices are between Air Caledonie and Qantas metal.

Whilst I have every confidence in Qantas pilots, equipment etc I know little about Air Caledonie. I have also just read some comments about Concorde and the French which give me cause to doubt whether it would be safe to fly on a French Airline.

Can you please advise me how safe Air Caledonie are? Do they maintain their craft properly and is the pilot training and culture ok? Would you fly with them?

cheers Peter

I flew there with them years ago and they were fine - no different to Qantas or Air NZ.

Even if you book with Air Caledione you may or may not actually be on one of thier a/c - Here they code-share with Air NZ so sometimes they'll send an Air Caledonie a/c on the run and other times an Air NZ - luck of the draw really.

My first flight to Noumea was with Air Caledonie.

Have also been on a charter flight from Noumea-Magenta to the Isle of Pines, and have flown Air France in Asia and Europe.

I have no qualms at all about flying with the French.
