Interesting thread guys and gals. At the risk of blowing my identity.....
Had a brush with this theme in PNG years ago, but with a twist .....I was working a contract as a CAA surveyor and amongst my duties, was the responsibility for inspecting/approving all maintenance organisations.
In one of many meetings with the Secretary and other upper management types it was directed that, in order to promote and foster onshore organisations which would recruit and train national engineers, we were to restrict the number of offshore companies approved to carry out maintenance on PNG registered aircaft. Fine. No problem - after all it was their country.
Well, you have never seen so much heat and light generated by a certian FNQ based organisation, when I declined their application for a Cert of Approval. They even went to the extreme of buying a well known local identity (read recruited as PNG representative of company) in Moresby to lobby the Secretary personally.
To cut a long story short, I was accused of being a racist - for alledged comments I had made to an unrelated third party (read friend of FNQ company owner) in Australia. I was summoned by BS Castle where I had to front the Secretary and explain my actions (which happened to be her government's policy) to her.
This episode really p1ssed me off as it was a "whitey" slandering me and attempting to have me thrown out of the country so he could get his snout in the trough.
It would have been amusing, had it not been so serious an accusation to make to a PNG government representative against an expat employee of that governent.
The whole thing was dropped when several ex-apprentice (now LAME's) Nationals who had known me for the best part of ten years, submitted character reference letters to the Secretary in support of me. This they did not have to do, but they were incensed enough to come out in defence of a former mentor and I thank them for that.
The other ironic point I should make is that the Secretary had met my wife before these racist accusations were made. I only mention this because my wife happens to be Japanese. Sorry, she can't help it, but it sort of made a nonsense of the FNQ company's arguement.
So, yes I too have been tainted by these comments, but by a fellow whitey who saw me as an obstacle to his making a quick buck in The Land of the Unexpected

For the multi lingual amongst us, remember a swear word in a second language does not have the same meaning or impact as it does in one's own language.
Who remembers being taught swear words in say Greek in the schoolyard? For you to utter the words means nothing, whereas to a Greek person, it would be highly offensive.

Take a seat at Henry's Cafe`(Chinatown-Broome) and your gaurenteed some racial abuse in refusal to give a smoke after being asked. Lost count how often this happens with local "tribe" members wandering around the streets, but hey, adds to the character of the place !

Isn't it great when you live and fly in one of the remotest and truly beautiful places on the earth and all you can find to talk about is when you were first called a little name.
Blackfella swearing is considered no stronger than Pommie git or **** etc. You can find them all in the dictionary.
Some people get annoyed when a blackfella does'nt say thankyou but in there culture everything belongs to everyone so there is no need for the word.
I remember a few years ago on an airstrip in the Kimberly five pilots were taken to court for drinking and leaving their emptys on the threshold, I would like to of known what a rfds pilot would of called them at four in the morning if fod had occured, stupid c*** springs to mind. Never seen a blackfella do that.
So one, do not take it to heart, and two, remember some of you probably deserve it.

Nicholas_hosties, if you havnt seen em do that well you just aint been around then. Had the lovlies break into both my aircraft just one week ago, they break the runway lights here on a weekly basis, steal fuel from aircraft here on a basis that is so regular that I cant fuel my aircraft at the end of the day, visit the airport on a regular basis just to see what they can steal or wreck and leave rubbish on the strip every time............. it aint just here either. I can refer you to several places and people with the same problems...... even to the extent that they had to get engineers up to the bush to fix aircraft that were left on the strip for a very short time and were wrecks when they returned. some of the community owned strips out this way cant be safely used because of the rubbish and the surface damage due to the locals ripping it up with a car after having a few.

Gotta agree with several comments here - these folk don't consider those terms offensive. In fact, they don't do the 'verbal repartee' thing - if youv'e p*ssed them off they won't swear at you, they'll clean your clock - usually with a dozen or so of the 'lations as well.
Also re the Wiz - a 'community' hereabouts got a grant and built a hospital, complete with a helipad. Its sole and only purpose was the care and wellbeing of the community. The pad had lights installed on towers, as well as in-ground illum of the pad and the walkway leading to it from the hospital. The lighting lasted less than a month before every one of the ground lights and tower lights was smashed. You just gotta shake your head......

Yeah I do flying in one of the greatest places on the planet, but this forum isn’t about that. It’s about racism towards whites. Something you obviously haven’t had to deal with. Oh and by the way most whites are in these communities to help the local indigenous people, i.e., doctors, nurses, teachers, police etc. Why should they have to put up with racial slurs? Are you really saying that they deserve it?
Racial slurs are very different to name-calling.
This forum isn’t about not being said thank you to. I have had many Indigenous Australians say thank you to me. It is about racial slurs that are made toward us and the double standards that exist in this country on this subject.
Yes they are stupid c**ts and deserved all they got. Have I seen Indigenous Australians do this? No I haven’t, but I have seen them burn down a hospital. Shall I call them stupid c**ts for doing this or will call me a racist.
