Safety, safety, “safety”.

The Act says it’s a primacy, CAsA uses it as a bludgeon, and aviators are aware of it because their backside depends on the knowledge of it when going aviating.

Top statement in this weekends Oz, by Janet Albrechtsen that certainly resonates.
”Safety Police…a Breeding Ground for Bullies”. As we know.
From her article…
”As Australian republicans gird their loins for debate about what makes a free nation, it’s worth noting that the biggest danger
to our polity doesn’t emanate from our status as a constitutional monarchy.
The dangers come from within, from local council diktats, bureaucratic meddling, stifling university orthodoxy,
government power grabs from people who use safety as a ruse to exert power, to bully their way to an outcome.”

Certainly rings bells for me.!

Interesting...

"The government has proposed its integrity commission will have retrospective powers and be able to conduct public hearings"

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-06-08/cph-attorney-general-wants-icac-operational-in-12-months/101134068

Also, there is a major push for it to adopt the definition of corruption as per NSW ICAC... https://www.icac.nsw.gov.au/about-co...f-the-icac-act ...

That’s a bit of good news. Having suffered recently from local council ceo diktats, and a couple of major past issues with CAsA..would be nice to have the bureaucratic buggery bought out into the open.
Perjury, false sworn testimony, criminality related to the false sworn docs, and the bash threat phone call.
JA aka Dr Discepancy sent me a 3 page verbal upchuck explaining that false sworn testimony was not untrue or lies.!..just use of discrepant words.
The AFP begged to differ. At days end all their employees get off the hook. And the citizen just takes a walk, the poorer and wiser.
CAsA .. the National Disgrace.

aroa - providing false or MISLEADING information is also corruption and a criminal offence... (some laws they do not need to prove intent to mislead either)...

And that's not even going into malfeasance / misfeasance / abuse of office / fabrication of evidence / misuse of commonwealth funds / etc etc etc..

Here is the bill that has been put forward, ladies and gentlemen..

Thanks. The Comm crim codes 1914 for the false pretenders were s31 and s 43, perjury and conspiracy.
Not that CAsA paid any attention with that, certainly not when Carbody had perjured himself as well.
It’s all about CYA. CAsA is inviolate, undisturbed, pure.

I am sure the federal CIC will want some examples within the first 6 months.

And they will want examples from some of the most powerful bodies in the country (ACCC / CASA) no doubt to show all the other govt. Bodies below that there's a new Sheriff in town.

it is a shame the coalition tried to water down the Federal CIC to the point it lacked any real capacity carry out it's core functions... Delaying it for 3 years... Think of everyone who has been waiting for this.... Justice delayed is justice denied.
