How to write a letter for training record release

I cant seem to find anything on how to write a letter to give an organisation to access my training records. Is there anything in particular that has to be done?

And keep it simple and state who will be the recipient, ie operator and a contact name if you know.

As Stallie indicated, it’s now a regulatory requirement hence they are legally obligated to release the information.

If your still stuck, PM me and I’ll draft an example/template for you.

Usually if changing flying schools the new schools HOO will request training records from previous school.

The new regs require that AOC holders disclose pilots training and checking records to another operator with the consent of the pilot, that in my opinion is a far call.

I believe the original topic was directed at previous check and training records not related to flying training for a Part 61 related activity.

Remember it's the 141/142 operator's job to request the records, not yours, so don't stress about that part. Just something simple stating that you [Name and ARN] give your permission for School XXYYXX to release records to School XXYYXX. Should do the trick.

In my experience, the new organisation will have standard form/letter already filled out, and all you need do write your name in the space provided and sign it.

It's no biggie.
