Will Avalon be cancelled?

Will Avalon be cancelled?
Now that CHO of Victoria has decreed that the F1 and Moto GP are public health hazards will the Avalon Airshow be the next to go?
It will be interesting to see.
At least you can run Avalon without international visitors, although defence crews would presumably be exempt anyway.
If all other states are green, he would have little justification to cancel it if the footy is still running.

The airshow can technically be conducted without any international personnel, though it may not be as interesting to some without an F-22/C5/Apache gunship or whatnot appearing. I'm still planning on going...
Edit - there we go: Avalon to go ahead Despite Grand Prix Cancelations - Australian Flying

It’s such a big risk for the organisers. We only need half a dozen mystery cases in Vic and there goes their million or two in seed money and another year for CASA permission :-(

Honnery went on to say that AMDA Foundation would guided by advice from public health authorities and would comply with directions from the federal and Victorian governments.
At this stage the advice from AMDA is that the show will be going ahead.
Obviously if a covid outbreak occurs then all bets are off but planning is still well underway.
I imagine the overseas presence will be very limited and the 110 anniversary of the RAAF will be doing its best to make up for any gaps in the program!

The next airshow after this one is what just over a year later anyway.
Just wait a year. The majority of the show and displays isn’t even Aussie stuff anyway. Otherwise it will just be like a Point Cook airshow. I don’t imagine the ticket price will take a dive either.

OF COURSE it will get cancelled. Just you wait and see.
And the Guvmin will say "WE didn't cancel it, the organisers did!"
Plan B - get your orders in to the print shop now for your life sized cardboard cutout likeness to be placed along the crowd line.

I highly doubt that overseas defence crews are on the waiting list of 30,000 civilians to get back into Australia!
The reference here was comparing with the 14 day quarantine periods and international arrivals, Defence has largely been following that, I can't think of too many examples of crews coming back into the country and then going straight home. Of course, as a whole, the organisation has kept flying.

You may be a clairvoyant looking to the 110 anniversary of the RAAF so we can skip 10 years...
short flights long nights
My predictions have been spot on ever since I saw a meteorite crash to earth. Funny thing was, I predicted that, 15 seconds earlier. No bull and I don’t believe in any of that crap either.
Avalon is like the Nevada desert in Summer. Not an ideal time for the event. Having a few hundred thousand people out there for a few days in 45C heat is quite dangerous. I have a screenshot on my phone from a turnaround in November many years ago. 47C. I had passengers struggling to even walk to the aircraft.
Also the fire bombers are quite active at that time of year unless they base them elsewhere.
