Piper Cub? on the RA register. Wouldn't take much wind for that to start flying. As for the Aerostar......

Uh oh... some of that probably wont buff out.
With some so called "super cells" damage can be done regardless of tie downs. And some tie down ropes look pretty old and tatty.

The Redcliffe Aerostar ???

It's looks like VH-HFY that has been damaged, but have also seen elsewhere it identified as VH-LEO - but latest pic of LEO shows a different paint scheme.

I’ve been waiting for someone to spot the change of rego.

It’s been prawn spotting out of Mackay or something like that.

So that photo of the wrecked Aerostar at Mackay is an old photo? Not a result of the storm just recently.

It’s KWP which is the new rego for HFY.

Brand new photo, not old.

Even with a taildragger draped over it, it still wants to head skyward! My most memorable moments in GA were all in the Aerostar, an awesome machine

Yeah, best not spread crap info, especially when it’s identifying someone else’s aircraft as a drug plane.
FYI, LEO is a Machen 680 Superstar. Pic attached. Different paint scheme.

Where did I identify LEO as a drug plane?

I was saying the pictured, wrecked aircraft had been identified as LEO on another website, but the recent pics of LEO showed it had a different paint scheme, but the first pic that shows up in a image search actually shows LEO with the same scheme about 12 years ago - so I wasn't saying LEO was a drug plane, I was saying, are you sure it is HFY?

FYI - old pic of LEO for reference

When you’re talking about both aircraft in the same breath and quoting heresay, it not hard to assume the inference.
You were the first one to mention LEO on this thread so you can see where I’m coming from.
Ps. Your post *could* be edited to clarify the intention…

It was obviously clear to everyone else reading this - but I have edited it to stop your whining.

It has been more than a year and a half, has anyone any idea what became of the pilot and his colleagues? The media does not have anything more that I can see.

So you’re referring to the ex-military special forces guy?

He's on bail. I'd say a case of this magnitude will take some time to construct. And if his story ever gets out it will make a better story than American Made. He may look like a special forces guy but the truth is a little different, all part of the story!
