Something interesting maybe?
Noted in the classifieds of the South Australian Advertiser Newspaper today, Friday 7th.

To be sold by auction 'as is' to satisfy
a Court Order.

Remainder of ad includes name and contact number of Auctioneer.
I wonder if there is an interesting story behind this?

I'd be guessing it's not quite as exciting as TSI.
The auctioneer's "Acting under instructions from Airport Management to satisfy a Court Order". So perhaps something as boring as unpaid YPPF parking bills?

FlightAware suggests the aircraft has not flown in 4 years, or at least filed a flight plan
The ownership name appears to be defunct. "OO Htun Htun" registered in Victoria

That old girl still around?
Wasn't an A model...was a 402 "nothing"...before the A model..had the short nose....built in the mid 60s, if I remember correctly.
Use to flog around in it 30 years ago and it was ancient back then.

Once pandoras box had been opened and he realized how much more money was going to be needed to get it to a point where you could actually use it for commercial charter the whole plan fell apart. AFAIK it's sat there from 2016.

Auction site shows $27250.
G'day Griffo.
short flights long nights
I have ( or was ) in Aviation nearly 40 years. Have flown lots of Cessna twins. I never knew there was a short nose 402!!
Indeed correct, VH-KRY was a crappy C401 with a short nose, the owner Bill Suhr of KRY later died in VH-RED a short nose C402 in about 1986.
Bill was an exponent of very reduced power takeoff's; thought he was saving engines...

Reduced power takeoffs were not the end of it with Bill. Sadly 3 others also perished in VH RED

Used to fly an old C411 VH-CLC, which I think was a short nose 402 with the geared props a la 421. It was that old it had a ADF that you tuned with a little crank wheel like you were winding up a window. good old days.
