Melbourne stage 4 lockdown and GA
Latest advice is that the melbourne outbreak is caused by a mutation that makes its C19 strain the most infectious so far on the planet. There are thus national and global reasons for the lockdown....
‘’Obvious reference “Alien” : “nuke it from outer space, it’s the only way to be sure...”

Whilst it hasn’t been widely publicised, they must have discovered or theorised that the “mystery” cases are coming from retail via the “super spreaders,” hence the closure of retail premises.

Cafe and coffee culture being to blame?? You’ll find the outbreaks in aged care facilities, retail stores, schools and food processing well outnumber those from cafes. Reckon Mr and Mrs “Stay at home Caucasians” shouldn’t shop for food or visit mum and dad in the old folks home too?

Squawk, you may be on the money, but my radar is blaring. Somethings not quite right.
Coincidentally, in the Oz tonight, this tabulation based on Johns Hopkins data - sorry couldn't snip the whole lot, link below but behind a paywall.
Australia (all) comes in at 49th, with the top twenty being dominated by African countries. And of course Danistan.
There's maybe's a rabbit off...but I hope not.

There’s lies, damned lies and statistics.....
Pertinent points in that graph percentage increase cases since June 26. Most African nations lie below the equator (now in winter). The pandemic which spread first into the well connected and richer Northern Hemisphere is now arriving into poorer and less connected Africa last. Pretty consistent spread for a pandemic.
You’ll also find the nations with the most deaths per capita for the Pandemic overall are dominated by Caucasian ones.

The news will eventually come out in a scientific paper. We are lucky to have cutting edge scientists in Melbourne.
We are unlucky to be the focus of medical attention at the moment. No one wants the Melbourne strain to spread to the rest of the world.
..Also anecdotal experifrom a young person who has had C19 - they wouldn’t wish it on their worst enemy.

Squawk,I recall being told years ago that State police forces deputised their interstate colleagues somehow. The old idea of smoky and the bandit style chases to the State line doesn’t work - Victorian police will chase you right across the border into NSW and vice versa was what I was told.

I like the way you completely mis-quoted me by removing social and religious cultures. You should have been a reporter!
If cafe and coffee culture aren’t to blame, then why did the premier shut down all restaurants, eateries and food courts for dining-in or on-site?
Have you been to a restaurant in say China Town in Melbourne pre Covid outside of standard meal times? The 8pm curfew is about social and family gatherings, particularly for religious purposes (without naming specific ones) where the acceleration of the spread began. Do you recall that the government gave advice months ago for certain ethnic groups to stop listening to their home-country propaganda that the virus doesn’t actually exist?
There are many aspects that have been so poorly handled, that we had no hope when it hit our shores.

Gin jockey:
1. I haven’t looked t Qantas financials, I don’t need to. I know people who do that better than I.
2. My biochemical skills are hard pressed making a reasonable gin and tonic. However I know when to listen to Professors who are experts in their fields. Ever heard of the Peter Doherty Institute?

glad to see in your spare time you have found time to intensively and forensically analyse the financials of qantas, but have also had time to conduct detailed epidemiological and anatomical analysis of a virus that even the experts are struggling to keep up with.

There's really not that many active cases in Melbourne if you look at the % of the population.
It's little wonder that people are dying as it gets into nursing homes, along with the odd outliers here and there.
Life goes on pretty normal for me, just not much flying.

If you believe the “average Caucasian married couple” aren’t getting infected you need to check your sources. That’s just racist claptrap. LGA’s like Wyndham, Hume, Moreland, Whittlesey, Casey where virus cases are high are well over 50% Caucasian.

Yesterday a Melbourne man in his 30s with no previous conditions died.
Even if you don't die, you can be crippled by the disease.

Tell me something 'pearly' if the 30 yr who died had no underlying conditions as you say then in the 6 months we have been subjected to this so called deadly virus he's the first to die at such a young age? By that account there ought to be young healthy people deceased every where?!fear and hysteria are feeding the sheeple

Pray for the former and by the time your body fights it off, it might not make it to your lungs.
