YMML GA landing

Anyone managed to get a clearance for a GA landing/touch and go at YMML, they seem to be approving them at YSSY.

Woops!

More importantly, does anyone know what the landing fee would be?

$370’ish.

No current dispensation on landing fees is on offer at YMML.

What or where is MML and SSY?

Melbourne is YMML (ICAO) or MEL (IATA)
Sydney is YSSY (ICAO) or SYD (IATA)

... yes and they are all paying full price for the privilege. A Cirrus landed 2 weeks ago, backtracked down the taxiway and took off again. Expensive trip!

Quite clearly you knew that the posters were referring to Melbourne and Sydney. Why make a deal out of it? So we have ICAO grammar police here now?

Worse still, the anti-grammar police.

Troll alert for that guy!

I used to fly in to MML in the 80's for the thrill of it, park at the end of the finger way where Kendall's where operating, get picked up by a safety officer and dropped off at the terminal observation deck(remember that deck?) had a coffee, then returned to the plane and dissapear all the way back to EN, all for FREE! -)

There is scope for confusion. A lot of my charter pilots/instructors seemed to be going to an aerodrome abrreviated to "SBK". What the hell they were doing at Springbrook, a VFR reporting point for Coolangatta/GoldCoast, was beyond me.
Their Logbooks also showed they had gone to this mysterious mecca, often (confusingly) via Brooklyn Bridge or 2FC. Oh sorry.... 2RN.

Like a lot of things in Aviation, it doesn't matter.... until one day it does.

Surely you jest. The gen Y’s and Z’s would be unlikely to believe your fanciful stories :-)

Many moons ago my Mother worked at Essendon airport at Ansett. One sunny afternoon her RAAF pilot brother flew in, in a brand new RAAF C130 and took a bunch of the office staff for a fly around the CBD and back to MEN. Those were the days...

It's a logbook, not a GPS Flightplan.

Write **** down like MML and SSY in your log book or 'frozen' ATPL in your CV and keep eroding your chances of getting that next job. Just saying.
