Space Based ADS-B?

So, despite allegedly being in the forefront of ADSB adoption, and suffering the associated pain (at least according to Dick Smith) we will still end up with an antiquated, unfit, expensive and orphaned system when the rest of the world goes space based?
Hemispheres by definition don’t matter in the space based system, it is supposed to cover the planet via the Iridium satellite network.
Shouldnt we just synchronise everything technical with the U.S and Europe and fire the so called local experts who keep inventing solutions to problems no one else has yet?

The aircraft systems in Australia are international standard. The system being developed by Nav Canada is the receiving end, space based rather than terrestrial. You clearly do not understand ADS-B. The system here is the same as the rest of the world. The USA is the outlyer with 2 systems, one of which (UAT) is not used by anyone else

Go easy with those tricky things, facts.
In the "trickle down" system, it takes more than almost a decade for the facts, (as opposed to rumors, denials and denigration and plain bull--t), to trickle down from the northern hemisphere down to AU.
Aviation wise, Australia is the only soldier in the battalion in step, you know that!!
Tootle pip!!
