Casa ex25/18 class 1 to class 2 medical
Has any instructor on here taken this opportunity to convert their Class 1 to a Class 2 medical? Experience with CASA ?, with DAME?
thanks,
thanks,
Not sure what you mean. When I get a class 1 medical, I automatically get a class 2 medical with it that lasts two years. If I wasn’t flying charter I’d just let the class 1 lapse and instruct on the class 2 until it was about to expire and renew the class 2. Is there more to it than that?

I was told by Avmed - no, unless clinically indicated. That can mean a number of different interpretations about trawling back through a Cl-2 applicants history whilst they were a Cl-1.
Assuming that you decide to let the Cl-1 lapse, and run with the Cl-2, (and you don't have limiting ailments such as psychosis, dementia or epilepsy), does the DAME or Avmed consider any of the renewal requirements eg, ECG,audio,Blood path, opthalmology, which you might have once 'failed' at a Cl-1 test?

Re ' then the DAME/avmed might want extra testing specifically targetted at that abnormality.'
Why the avmed ?? Is not the DAME a fully qualified and certified doctor - approved by the 'almighty'....?
Why should a 'public servant doctor' query or 'challenge' a 'DAME doctor' in the issuance of a medical for a licence..???
If my DAME has a 'query', he is man enough to bring it to my attention and he either signs me off as being medically fit to fly, or he doesn't.
Any 'reasonable' answers?
