VH-LCZ - apparently owned by a retired Cathay captain. I know his name but won't mention it here in case it wasn't him flying it.

According to Adelaide now the pilot was NOT the owner, but was from Queensland. No serious injuries reported.

According to a witness and first responder: "“The power lines probably saved him because they slowed him down...."

yeah, like a trap on a carrier...

Aircraft had a partial loss of power as it turned onto finals. Pilot only received scratches & bruises & expects to be released from hospital today.

120 kt winds and 90 kt Cessnas don't help.

Seriously though, how many of us in Australia have REALLY experienced carby ice?

....Maybe the KingAir in Essendon was suffering from Carby Ice

Ah yes, carby ice, cold still morning in a C150 at YMMB, lined up, cleared to takeoff, push throttle and engine splutters and stops. Alternative explanation:I let the clutch out too quick

A bit premature mate!

Best wait for the official report to come out.

There has to be more to it.

Has the pilot been sacked and reemployed yet?
