Gympie in sunny Queensland came online earlier today, with a very big thank you to Ray and Di of the Cumulus Residential Airpark Estate.

Amazing program! You and others behind it deserve an AO.

YMFD Mansfield is a site that would really benefit pilots.

thank you

DWELP use it as a fire fighting base. Cameras looking North and South might be good.

If you strongly feel that there is somewhere that needs cameras, let me know via pm for via email on the website.

Preferably with a contact name and preferably a number of someone onsite. It is painfully difficult to try and contact a government department for this kind of thing with no name to quote.

If I can get that information I can cold-call and run with it. The success rate is above 90%. The main reason for initial dismissal is a perceived high cost. Once the costs are detailed, it’s usually full steam ahead.

Port Pirie are now up and running in a very dry looking South Australia.

https://mywebcams.com.au/YPIR-PortPirie/

Apologies I haven’t updated the directions yet which are east and west. (east is over the tarmac)

PS: No luck on Mansfield Katz, it’s not going to happen any time whilst the current operators are there.

The Ballarat cameras actually have 2 feeds with 2 cameras on 1 and 1 on the other.... yet it still goes down far too often!

Some news.

I have just donated a weather camera to King Island airport. It is a single camera at present.

If anyone else is interested in contributing towards a second camera, please let me know and we can chat about it. We’re talking sub $200. I’ve already spoken to Vortex and they are not at all interested.

King Island Webcam

Thanks to the local ARO’s for fitting, this one came up today.

We are still looking for an entity to sponsor a second unit for better situational awareness.

I just found this live Melboune webcam on YouTube. Not sure if it can be used by the EFB's such as Avplan or OzRunways.
Maybe the YMMB S/E camera is just as good, and this other cam is not needed. Still it is available.

Rockhampton coming very soon. Stay tuned. Not on the airport, but not far from it (due to Defence Dept).

Also coming soon with some to be confirmed:

- Bankstown
- Condoblin NSW
- Riddles Creek Vic
- Sunbury Vic
- Maryborough Qld
- Lismore
- Milford Vic
- Scarsdale Vic
- Otago NZ (3 sites)
- Snowtown SA
- Port Augusta SA
- Gove

There are around 30 or more cameras shipped into the wild that are yet to be installed.

I will now start posting those in the pipeline so as to try and avoid double-ups. The last thing I want is someone spending money or planning to spend money, when it’s already in the pipeline but they haven’t heard about it yet.

Additional suggestions are always welcome. I’m happy to cold-call a contact, have people contact me or do it through a third party. In some cases it will actually cost nothing to install them as the cameras are sometimes sponsored by anonymous donors or government departments. You may be surprised as to how generous some people actually are!

Gotta hand it to you, Squawk, this is great. And now Oz Runways has fixed the camera display on Android, it's even better!

The system has already saved lives at our airport. People could see cloud on the hills in the distance which meant they would not make it to the airport whereas they were otherwise determined they could get through which could have or might have ended in disaster.

We have the technology now days so as pilots we might as well utilise everything as best we can to our benefit, just like GPS over the years, these WebCams will prove to save many lives
