A true gentleman and pilot. I was a pax on his last flight with Air Niugini in a f27 from Mt Hagen to Port Moresby. Before climbing aboard the f27, John noticed a very old bag handler standing back behind the crowd, holding a bow and arrow with a flower tied to it, with a tear in his eye...his parting gift for John. John went over to him, shook his hand, accepted the gift. Both men parted smiling, and both had tears in their eyes, as John returned to the aircraft.
