I remember Kim when he was an Ansett engineer as I flew through the Alice pretty often.

I also remember a pub in the town, in which there was a story on the wall of a light aircraft (a 172?) which crashed in the desert, breaking off a prop blade. The pilot was siad to have wired on an axe handle to the prop to balance it, and then flew the aircraft out! :o
