Isn't Yabbie Creek near where they film Home and Away? Last week Ch7 advertised an episode involving an aircraft crashing, they used a plain white Bandit for that.

Not a bad effort for a low budget Australian production.

So this thread by a first poster has degenerated into making light of an "alleged" crash?

If Ch 7 wants to add more realism they need to do some classic pprune / reporter sayings

"The Pilot deliberately detached the wings"

"Must be RAAUS"

"Must be a Jabiru"

"Aircraft was a Cessna Beech Piper Boeing"

"That will buff out"

Feel free to add more

I wonder perhaps if they used the airframe that was up for tender a while back in the Aviation Trader...

I'm (not a CH7 watcher) very confused right now. Can someone please explain exactly what's going on?

I'm quite familiar with VH-EQB (it's the main skydiving plane in Goulburn) but I've got no idea what's happening in this thread.

This is what I make of it.No doubt, only partially correct.

'Yabbie Creek' is a fictional place. It's a setting for Channel 7's 'Home and Away'.
Also YYAB is not the ICAO code for the aforementioned Yabbie Creek (because it's fictional).YYAB is Yackabindie,WA.

Moving along,Ch.7 have been promoting a 'plane crash' in an upcoming episode. So,the OP is,in effect, attempting to promote a Ch.7 show by posting a description of a fictional prang.Perhaps to get 'viral' hits on search engines ?Apparently, the 7 promo depicts a white Bandit (I don't watch soaps). As to why VH-EQB is mentioned,I have no idea.

VH-EQB was the rego on the 'crashed' plane

The pilot in me watched it, just to pick on mistakes but they did an ok job, hey they used a real rego, an it appears the real VH-EQB for some of the shots.

Extremely sick form from Jonkie Gripes.

Typical of those in that industry...no conception of anything other than self promotion.

Whilst many of us are wringing hands wondering if we have lost another mate.

Perhaps the thread should be culled for the reasons outlined.

Lighten up SB - anyone with half a brain can check and see immediately that Yabbie Ck doesn't exist, and YYAB is Yackabindie airstrip.
It only takes 5 seconds of applied thought to understand the deal had to be a fictional drama, and almost certainly a TV one.
I might add, I rarely watch TV, and I've never watched a soapie in my life.
