How accurate do you need it to be? Casio has a nice variety in their Pro-Trek series.

I have a Pro-trek - alt is handy as a gross error check when I am doing transponder tests.

They put altimeters and compasses in aircraft these days, so the Casio $20 special for telling the time is probably adequate!

True, but down the back they don't...

umm so a watch will show you the cabin pressure altitude or are you flying unpressurised? Ive got a casio; like the heading feature but rarely use the altitude though seeing the sea level pressure change could be handy.

iPhone 6 is good enough for me......in addition to the 5 other clocks in the aircraft.

What ever floats your boat, it's your money. But I suspect you'll pay such money for features rarely ever used once the novelty wears off.

I think you'll find that there's no watch in existence that can give you heading (unless you can find one with an inbuilt magnetic compass, like a Bata Scout shoe.)

You probably meant track...

So there's the solution, S34: A 'Tissot Touch'. (I stand corrected, AerocatS2A.)

Good luck sitting 'down the back' of an 'unpressurised' aircraft and sighting down the longitudinal axis of the aircraft to work out your magnetic heading.

I'd find the GPS-derived track a much more useful piece of navigational information than heading. But that's just me.

Ah well, the Tissot Touch doesn't have track, it just becomes a magnetic compass with the hour and minute hands acting as the needle.

I'm not sure how many hours you have, but you're really not going to use any of these features in the airplane in the real world, I know, I know, but what if XYZ fails, yeah, nope, you won't use them, hence why you see so many people selling those stupid garmin watches now.

That said, GPS watches have some great benifits for some outdoors sports and hunting and the like, they do have to be charged often, but if you want a GPS, compass, baro watch a suunto is the top dog, doesn't say pilot on it, or have a half arse HSI, but it's really the best when it comes to this type of hardware, it's also made with a sapphire lense and in Europe, not a Chinese watch.

Suunto Traverse Alpha Foliage ? the GPS/GLONASS outdoor watch

Sunrise-sunset times and alerts
Fishing and hunting specific POI types
Moon phases and moon rise/set times
Automatic Shot detection
Red backlight, Night Vision Goggle compatible
GPS and GLONASS for route and POI navigation
Real-time breadcrumb view of the recorded track
Tracking for speed, distance and altitude
Route planning in Suunto's Movescount.com with topographic maps
Route preview and route altitude profile on the watch
100 m/330 ft water resistance
Altitude (FusedAlti™)
Weather trend and storm alarm
Compass
Backlight in flashlight mode
Vibration alarm
GPS time update
Daily, weekly, monthly and yearly activity tracking of steps and calories
Mobile notifications

I'll add that even though I really like these types of watches, day to day and in the cockpit at work I wear Swiss mechanical and automatic watches.
