Qld Government Air

Hi all,
I'm doing a bit of research for a friend of mine who is looking to apply and was just wondering if anyone has any feedback either good or bad regarding working conditions etc for Qld Govt Air. I notice they are advertising for a HID pilot I assume on the Bongo. I know all these questions will be covered during the interview process but she just wants to get a bit of an idea whether or not to throw her hat into the ring. She has all the required mins (except she has a SE instrument rating not multi) and is curious whether or not she will be able to transfer between bases (eg to Cairns, Brissie etc) and aircraft (B1900,C550) once she is established within the company.

Its the second-best job in Oz aviation and probably the most secure.

If you apply for a position and get it, that is the position you have. There is no 'transfer' between bases unless a position comes up and then you apply for it. There is no 'progression' onto other types unless you are at the base where they are AND you are needed to fly them.

You DO work for a living and the circumstances / environment can be pretty crude / unpleasant at times. It is NOT an hour-builder enroute to the shiny jet job; it is an end, not a means. There are significant challenges, but a pretty awesome team to work with.

I accepted all the above and enjoyed the hell out of it, until I got a guernsey in the BEST job in Oz aviation......
