C185 Crash near Wanaka

NZ Herald is reporting a C185 crash near Wanaka. At this stage it would appear the crash site has been come across by chance, as no-one was overdue at the time...

From the images it appears to be the side of a mountain they have impacted?

Sad to hear of this, both Paul and Kate got me into flying, PPL, CPL and C Cat.

The fly aways to Ryan's Creek were great fun as well as the cross countries into Big Bay, Milford and various strips around the South Island. They gave more practical instruction to a budding CPL than what you got at the sausage factories, mainly because it's what they did as the charter side of the business.

Thank you both for your guidance and great memories.
