It's aircraft related...

It was quite a fun ride really, you use the ailerons / wings to pivot your "aircraft" on it's axis. It doesn't go fast enough to spin you around by simply sliptting the ailerons, so you rock them back and forth and after a few tries you can spin it around. Aircraft at the front of the pack get better airflow so they spin around much faster. If you are old, choose one at the rear

PS: This is at Dreamworld.

This concept of you controlling it yourself made me realise that you could set up a similar scenario, eg a Starwars type fighter on a rollercoaster and using the wind generated by the speed, you could have it control your "ship" with ailerons and go all the way around plus tilt back and forth. A far more interactive rollercoaster than would be the norm.

Watts - Gathering of Eagles

I see none of the usual suspects have posted anything from the recent 2 day fly-in, so here are a few of mine. Sat was apparently the busier day, however I was otherwise engaged and Sunday had by far the better flying wx.

The "Big Foot" conversion obviously

Few more;

Not a great shot, but this has to be one of the most impressive old birds still in private hands. Still need to see her get wet though, that would be spectatcular!

Seems that the US Air Force is in town

Can anyone guess where this was taken?

Yeah, I'd go Tindal too.
But... what's an L-39 doing in USAF livery?

It was in Georgetown. A local farmer took delivery of it from Echuca and was doing some familiarisation circuits. Hell of a way to round up your cattle!

T-34 Mentor, apparently a reworked Beechcraft 35 with a tail as god intended (insert stirring smiley). I don't think the tip tanks are usual equipment, but don't know first hand.

I reckon that the T-34 has its vertical stabiliser from a BE35 ruddervator, Spinex.

Riverfire tonight

I didn't make it to yesterday's practice, but there are some rather nice Super Hornet pics doing the rounds on farcebook. I understand a C-17 is due to join the party this year too. Can't help it though, it's just not the same without these beasts:-
