Re the F1-11 in the pic, I don't recall ever seeing a nose cone so shiny as I thought those cones were a raw carbon fibre. That one looks like glass (as in perfectly painted etc). Perhaps they restored the nose...

the F111 nose cone is made from uni directional fibreglass, covered in a rubberised black paint.

Reminds me of that line from the Battle of Britain:
"Boomps-a-daisy. It's enough to make you weep."

Yeh, I reckon those 'Grumpy Monkeys' were "bunging it on" just a bit....

But as always, "77 Sqn does it best."

Clinton, Mirage A3-42 is probably the closest to do that in private hands. But I think that the project has sadly stalled due to the cost and complexity. Perhaps try searching "friends of mirage a3-42"?

Having a look at the brand new Cessna Caravan EX on floats. For those who don't know it is the first time Cessna has offered a Grand Caravan body on floats!

Yours for 3 million plus options. Jury is still out whether the short body is worth it or not! And for $500k saving (bare in mind this is a float pilot speaking).

A couple of nice B/W shots there PM. Thought it was a T-6 at first, but no. BT-13 perhaps?

A couple from me out and about on a nice day in an aeroplane that you don't see around much these days....

....a great machine none the less.
