The Qantas 747 is VH-EBD "City of Perth" which was on its delivery flight from Seattle. It arrived on 12 Dec 71 becoming the first widebody to visit Brisbane. The aircraft was open for public inspection and departed for SYD later the same day. At that time BNE had no widebody stairs so we had to use the old Hastings Deering 707 stairs with an adapter to reach the door sill.

Even after all this time, they (the original 747s) still look nice.

Yep. Just about the best livery Qantas ever had. Also looked great on the 707 and the DC-4.

Wings on kangaroo - check
Original stylish curves on kangaroo - check
Qantas in an attractive stylish font - check
City name with coat of arms presented on the nose - check
Polished metal - check

could also add ...

Crew proud and engaged - check

Rgds

Angry

I think it's time to see another floatplane piccie!! Variety is the spice of life, but now for something completely different, I can't wait to see yet another, and another, Caravan or Beaver photo.

No doubt you'll post some other aircraft, maybe a Mustang?

Yeah I must say.. I'm getting a bit over the amphibious Caravan and Beaver pics.. It's funny, the locations look beautiful but I can tell you from my time working there, the locations are the only positive. Far from the dream job that it looks like. But hey, if you put enough pictures up you might just be able to convince yourself otherwise!!

Point stands, if you have better to offer, go ahead, otherwise stand aside and let the rest of us enjoy them.

Anyway, just for the hell of it here are a few of mine
