Crash in the Kimberley?

Can anyone confirm a crash up on the Dampier Peninsula at YCLQ a few days ago?

Crash in the Kimberley?

Yup. VH-DQI. Luckily no one was hurt. Seen the photos and the aircraft took quite a beating.

Can someone elaborate what happened? Wet season? Inexperienced?
Just curious as the media loves to write articles on GA ops and there hasn't been anything yet. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I am speculating but from the photos it looked like the pilot failed to keep on the hard part of the strip and ended up hitting the soft stuff which swung the aircraft into the trees.

Its the wet season but its hasn't been raining that morning or night before.

Does it matter? You are just as bad as the media.

Crash in the Kimberley?

Seems so. I mean front gear collapsed, extensive damage to both wings, prop etc

Just curious as I've flow into that strip before and was one of the trickier ones.

Correct, a 550 according to a colleague in Broome. Interior was refurbished with kangaroo leather too from what I heard...a mint looking example of a 210.

+1 for photos.

Crash in the Kimberley?

Bit harsh mate, family owned business operating 3 top notch looking aircraft. Hopefully a lesson learnt and an increase in the training budget.

Who knows, I think it could have happened to anyone. Although being in the family business is a plus because he will be able to keep his job. If it happened to anyone else they would have been looking for a new job asap.

Edit: There is no training budget. You don't get paid for ICUS.

Vitriolic attack!

Your bitter and vitriolic attack on a defenceless decent young man indicates that you have a deep seated mental problem. I urge you to seek immediate psychological help. In the meantime, I suggest you refrain from self gratification by indulging in social media -- it may be detrimental to your obvious fragile mental state. Do not apply for membership to the aviation fraternity as you will certainly be rejected.
ps. Watch your back 'Sunshine' -- civil actions for libel can be ruinous!
