Slightly off topic,but the Impulse Airlines Jetstream 41's jumpseat had the backrest as the flightdeck door. If the Flight attendant flung the door open rapidly the jumpseater ended up falling backwards onto the floor. 29 pax looking at a pilot lying winded on the floor.....ah,.....happy days (*wipes tear from eye)

What's the fastest non jet propelled groundspeed you've achieved?
Long time since but, as I recall, around 560kt on the Electra PER-MEL in a booming jetstream.

Freighter so it was just the three of us plus eats ... 300 and going like the clappers. Without anything much to go on from your profile I'm presuming that you were a BNE wombat in days of yore ? If so then you know the general eastbound tale well.
Actually, the happy snaps interest was the QF 747 going to SYD. He steadily overtook us a few thousand feet above. Lovely sight contrailing for all he was worth and he filled the window rather beautifully .. probably still have a couple of pix somewhere in the filing cabinet.
It was the day for FAI record attempts. We did our bit rather normally, QF cheated a tad .. climbed out to sea .. then overflew PER at cruise ... We were given a fair bit of latitude re tracking by ATC and did our best to sit in the core until we were over towards ADL.
My go and I inadvertently misjudged the descent a tad
.. over the runway intersection at a suitable (for the occasion) height and 300kt, close the throttles, pitch into a climbing turn to wash off speed and rolled out nicely to join downwind for 34. Absolute buzz.
The boys in the freight shed said it all looked rather fine .. or words to that effect.
Ripper trip.

On the 'other hand'.....What was your 'Slowest time'....??
Dep SY for a ferry to WA in a C-150 with a 'howling' westerly which caused a change of runways due to a 'dry' front which raised all the dust etc ......and a change of Rwy whilst taxying for a dep on '34'....which was a 'pain' for a '150'....From 'Flight Facilities' apron...
Dep Rwy 25 and on climb, achieved 1,000ft by the intersection and 1,500 by the ITB (Int Terminal Bldg)....although I had advised the TWR and turned off the RWY hdg to the right to allow a NZ DC-10 to dep behind, I was not
'RADAR Identified' at that time....so the DC-10 had to wait.....and wait....
A 40kt westerly was then blowing at the time and had vehicular traffic on the Great Western H'way going better than I was.....got to Katoomba and had to divert to Bathurst for fuel.....for the next leg...

Got to YPJT 4 and a half days later....took all of 4 and a half hours back on the then 'T-Jet'....

Slowest. 45 knots in a warrior. Essendon to Bungaree. ATC, gave me my groundspeed about 30 seconds after I had calculated it. Can't say I was too impressed.

Slowest non-jet groundspeed - zero in a CT-4 somewhere near the Werribee poo farm, at about 4000 ft with full flap and pointed into a good strong wind.

Hey 'slim' I had about the same GS (415kts) in the old Beech going East to YMER during the CB fires a few years back. Climbed up to 31K to get on top of the smoke & got a wicked jetstream I was almost dizzy up there!:-)Coming back to EN ....12K & crawling
Another time back in the 80's going to BDV in a C172 with 2 young ladies we where in a group of 4 planes. Howling Nth wind meant we had to stop at MIA for fuel & a 'relief' stop for the girls. 60 kts or so across the ground was the best I could work out pre GPS days, not too sure what was worse the screaming headwinds or the screaming girls....I wanna go to the toilet!
