I trust tail wheel won't object to me butting into your forum, but the Time Stamp issue has been around since March 2008, and the chances of IB being able to fix it range from slim to none

PPRuNe is scheduled to be migrated to VB4 by the end of the year (this year, I believe) which will solve the Time Clock issue. Until then, we're expected to be patient and pretend that all is well

ps I'll bet a farthing to Threadneedle Street that my post introduces the Time Stamp problem into this thread. Something about moderator's posts seems to be a catalyst

All OzMates are welcome here - even fling wing Mods.

The odd part is that until the last couple of days I have never seen the time/date stamp problem occur in Dunnunda Forums!

I guess you've noticed that "Thread Tools" has also gone very slow in the last month?

I find it amazing that the problems can't be found for over two years. I wonder if IB recruit from CASA?

Due to some new information, I have decided to lose interest in this problem.

Thank you for your help.

Time to untwist your knickers ladies! The reason you see a different 'last post' time stamp on the thread list when compared to the last post in the thread is because there is a poll in the threads you are fretting about.

If a thread has a poll attached then every time someone votes in the poll the thread 'last post' time is updated. If this didn't happen and no one actually made a new post to the thread with the poll then that thread would slip down the list until it wasn't on the first page as other threads were updated with new posts.

It's not rocket science and nothing is broken. Just one of the ways threads with polls stay 'active' if there is a lot of voting but no new posts.

That was only one of the problems, and we worked that out ages ago.

This thread has never had a poll attached to it, but the times are wrong, still are, yours is. In the topic review the post time of your post is correct, but NOT on the actual posted reply.

May I ask for threads with polls, would it not be better to just make any thread with a poll a ''sticky''?

But that is the whole point, mine is NOT.

It is showing on this thread that I posted it yesterday.

Anyway, as I said earlier, don't worry about it.

Just a quickie.............. That post a few minutes ago shows 2000 hrs which is correct local time here on the list, but 0300 on the actual thread, which would be say US West Coast time.

Unfortunately, I can't replicate the problem. All post and thread times are showing correctly for me so I can only assume that the problem is possibly something to do locally with your computer.

In the scheme of things, perhaps we should remember the old adage that "worse things happen at sea".

Posted at 0005 UTC +1 (my computers clock time), 1805L Jamaica time.

NO worries, as I said I have stoopped worrying about it, just I like things to work properly.

That is why I never go on ships.

Enjoy your holiday in Jamaica.

PS..... Keep enjoying your holiday however I don't think it can be my computer, I just answered on another thread and the times are perfect on that thread but still wrong on this thread.

Now that's typically a fine answer to the observed problem being discussed.

Irrespective of the explanations being proferred, none have as yet actually done anything to fix the problem that Danny2 says doesn't exist.

So it is NOT just me.

Thank goodness you told me, I was just about to start ripping my computer apart to find the problem.

Impossible, I have been assured there is no problem, all the times are perfect, except on my computer.

Actually I am beginning to think that is true about The Ashes, all this messing with the times is to upset us Colonials so we cannot concentrate on flogging the POMEs in the Cricket, which we will do though of course.

Heck it is 0251, I should be in bed, good night...........

Question

Okay, now what is going on???

Or are you just messing with us.........

We now have PDT as well, I take it this is the time at HQ in California?

PS edit...... Now the times AND the date is wrong.

Okay now I know you are just messing with us, this post is NOT PDT but PST.
