Disappointed with Mods

I'd just like to share my displeasure with the mods removing my thread titles "ASIC Free Day". I recieved no notice to remedy my post or any explanation as to why it was removed.

Seems as though someone has their panties in a knot and are power tripping.

Perhaps a problem with freedom of speech...

Anyway, rant over...

"LG" ahh don't stress over it too much the Mods have knocked a few of my posts on the head b4 as well as banned me in my 'otherlife' identity for reasons am sure are are as you say 'power tripping' but at the end of the day you won't win with them the legal ramifications are everything when it's an open public forum like this. Like it or not we live in a very sad litigation world & not all the time for the best either.
It's a great forum & at times am sure many here scratch their heads at the Mods antics

I have been the victim of what I've initially felt was unfair censorship and restriction, but sitting down in the cool light of dawn, and thinking through the size of this board and the legal and moral constraints, I think they do a damn good job.

Don't be upset when this gets locked shortly.

You aren't meant to question moderation.

Oh and really, you are suggesting that all pilots and crew try and break the law on a given day, is that clever and relevant for a Professional Pilots forum?

"You aren't meant to question moderation".

Hahahaha. Ok Saddam.

I was disappointed the Jetstar cadet thread was locked as well. Many applicants were beginning to use it to discuss their applications.

If that were the gist of the thread i can understand why it were deleted.

Perhaps there are better ways to get rid of the silly ASIC's.

Do the terrorist fixated Yanks still not have them ?

Of course not, that would be akin to having to "carry papers" which if applied to a black or hispanic person would be deemed to be racist.

The Jetstar cadet thread was closed!?? Purely the fact that this thread was consistently on top of the forum was evidence enough that it didn't deserve closing. A thread that wasn't defaming anything or anyone. And I agree that it was just getting interesting with people getting called up for interviews.

Its bad enough living in a nanny state of a country.

organising a day where a group of pilots all intentionally break the law
I didn't suggest to break the law, I suggested going to work without it! Every airside worker that is... A strike if you will...

Best way to show your displeasure in a law, is to use the law they use against you, back against them!

Do the terrorist fixated Yanks still not have them ?
No, they realise that terrorists won't apply for one....

As we speak, there is a bill tabled which will allow law abiding citizens, whom hold a concealed carry handgun permit, to carry their handgun on aircraft.

No better way to tackle hijackings than to allow passengers to fight back!

Do you honestly think the 911 attacks would have suceeded if there were armed passengers on board?

Just another cheap way of protecting citizens! Unfortunately our government neither trusts us, nor allows us to defend ourselves and others.

"freedom of speech" ? Guess you didn't bother to read the thingies that you agreed to when you signed up for Pprune

Suggesting that all airside workers go to work without their ASICs is either incitement to an illegal act (if they went airside), or just silly (if they all sat around landside being bored and looking stupid)

I can see why the thread got locked - I would done it too

longrass

A nationwide day, where every airside worker, turns up to work without there (sic) ASIC!

Now this can go one of two ways...

1) The security bans everyone from accessing airside and aviation stops for a day, sending a clear message to the government that we are pissed.

2) Everyone gets let in and fly as usual, without any acts of terrorism, mass exodus or the world ending and we prove to the government that it is a crock of sh!t

You're a quality act Longrass! You wanted to use this forum to conspire civil disobedience to break the law, now you're advocating gun carrying passengers "sort out" all the hijackers we get on Australian airline aircraft?

Not in this forum. Not in my Australia.

If you are a pilot, may you and I never meet on the same aircraft.

If you start another stupid thread, your PPRuNe access will be removed.
