Airline Command Wages

Addressing Long haul/International Captains:
Thankyou for your time and consideration of the following- I’m currently conducting research into current Long haul/International command annual income for supporting evidence in a legal case. All airlines of all regions will be relevant and welcome. We are interested in actual data from people willing to enter into correspondence via PM or email, however all information posted would be greatly appreciated.
Information required is basic details of quantum income including all benefits, overtime and allowances for the year, along with where your live and type of employment i.e. contract/commuting/permanent.
Information will not be past outside of involved parties and will not be made public.
The thread may be of interested to many professionals trying to decide the best place to further their career.

Kind Regards,
Legal6004

In other words. A uni grad at a LCC (who forgot to use grammar check), wants you to do the research for him. The findings can then be presented to management (this time using grammar check) to help find new and innovative ways to screw you.

Management can then remind you how generous your terms and conditions are (compared to a Captain at the Gurkistan National Carrier).

Subsequently, management will determine that costs will have to be reduced to remain competitive. Your employee representatives will then successfully negotiate a pay cut.

By the way. What is quantum income? Is that like quantum physics, dealing with really really small stuff?

I'll help....

My fee (payable in advance of course...) for provision of the requested information is $8600.00/day. On balance I'd estimate I could accurately answer your questions after considering them for 21 days.

Quite reasonable I think.

Well in the spirit of current activities I will undercut Stikybeke and charge only $5500 per day, I should have a full response within 7 days.

How does that sound?

Research ...

As a labour lawyer with an interest in becoming a pilot, I've done lots of research into pay, terms and conditions for pilots (and other industries) in Australia. I'd be more than willing to help with a comparative analysis of terms and conditions with some qualitative and quantitative economic analysis. You'll need to give me more specific instructions on what information you want and how it is to be presented.

My current charge out rate is $330 (inc. GST). I can supply a costs agreement on request and will require a minimum of 15 hours, plus disbursements. Peer or senior review of the document will be charged at the rate of $490 per hour (inc. GST), min 2 hours.

Alternatively, you might find all the relevant industrial insutruments at:
www.fairwork.gov.au - check under industry awards (Pilots Award) and agreements (specific workplace/employer/airline). Most long haul/int operators will have an agreement and there are not many here in Aust.

"Information will not be past outside of involved parties and will not be made public."

So who are the 'involved parties' in the 'legal case' and why won't it be made public??? Most 'legal cases' involve the discovery of evidence and the making of such information public if it is going to be used.
If you are looking for personal information you might want to identify yourself, the parties in the apparent legal dispute and/or the organisation or university that you represent.

Probably only an undergrad, as the post graduate and doctoral students get resources for research assistant... Research..............................

Doesn't actually say the legal case invloves an airline! Sounds more like research for a divorce case to me!

Howard - your correct there isn't an airline involved just a pilot trying to get his due.

Pauly - Thank you for the link but looking for actual figures as awards often indicate lower then what is actually received.

Thank you for the input so far, please keep the posts coming.

"...as awards often indicate lower then what is actually received."
Not in the aviation industry!!

GA: expect the Award or generally less than Award.

Airline: expect exactly the relevent EBA as per the FWA web site.

"Over Award" payments are virtually unknown in the aviation industry.

Appreciate your input Tailwheel, really just looking for some actual figures. Thank you for those of you suppling details, very kind of you.

The more we get the more chance we have of giving this pilot fair compensation.

Further in the spirit of current activities, I will pay $30,000 for the privilege of answering your questions and have an answer as soon as my bank approves the loan.

What sort of legal research gets done on pprune.

Your Honour, Bert Snorkel was a 747 captain, single pilot IFR earning $750,000 a year base plus allowances. I know this as I read it on PPRuNe.

Seriously, if your really researching pay scales for any type of pilot, even a second year law student would know the right places to look.

PS: I in no way know what Bert Snorkel earned as a pilot. Just threw that name in there to fill a space.

I'll bet the result of this research helps screw some poor pilot
more than it helps. Freaking lawyers are all full of it.

The standard rate isnt actually your whole salary.

If you go through the award somewhere it will actually say what the standard rate is. Off the top of my head I can't remember so you will have to go digging.

It is actually a similar amount before it was turned into a %.

I’m currently conducting research...
So, you are a solicitor? Paralegal? Secretary? Plaintiff? Defendant? You carefully don’t state your occupation or your actual involvement in this ‘case’.
...for supporting evidence in a legal case.
Odd way to conduct research, but I guess anything’s possible these days. Is Wikipedia getting cited as well? EBAs are hardly top secret documents, as per Paul's excellent post.
All airlines of all regions will be relevant and welcome
What’s the case, then? Does it involve all airlines of all regions? Sounds fascinating; I’d love to hear more, although not by PM thanks.
We are interested...
Are you an I or a we?
The thread may be of interested to many professionals trying to decide the best place to further their career.
A totally different point tacked on as a conclusion, complete with its very own incorrect word usage.

It's a very strange post. If you guys are correct and it is an airline flunky trawling for information, said airline really needs to look at its flunky hiring procedures and find people with basic writing and research skills.

By the way. What is quantum income? Is that like quantum physics, dealing with really really small stuff?

Now that's funny...
