Virgin Blue hiring
No, VANZ crews just do the pacific island/ most of the trans Tasman stuff.
Bali and Phuket is done by domestic crews - too complicated to get into the whole VAA/VAI thing.

VANZ
Just a couple of facts for those looking at VANZ
- You are paid in NZD with no super
- There is a 30 month lockdown after CTL within the nz operation
- Can you go commute to oz on your days off? Yes, but often they'll be in blocks of 2 up to your maximum of 10. And 10 is all you'll ever get.
- Compared to VAA, the VANZ work rules were written on slate with a chisel by Fred Flintstone. Lots of back of the clock and big days. That's not changing
- VAI transition means nothing but a new Ipad. Same bases, same money
- Don't go over expecting a holiday in nz before heading back to your domestic job. You have to want to live in NZ.
- No new machines coming, no commands coming. Long slow list now (albeit quicker than VAA but still 5yrs +)
- 28 day reserve block happening up to 3 times a year
Take all that as you will

Abandonment of the 'Hold File' is probably related to the new selection process. The days of being recommended by lots of your mates and an informal interview with a couple of FOMs to see if you are a good bloke is history. Now, you will be expected to be assessed in accordance with a psychometric exam as well as personality type, sim ride, group activity, panel assessment as well as seeing if you are a 'good bloke'. It all part of the Bold New Way.

bloke 3000: just a small correction to your fact list. There is super for the VANZ contract. Not as much as oz but there is one. Guessing you don't know much about nz laws.
VANZ CEA states 4% on top of your annual salary
Then again as its NZD, the 4% is more like 3% so you'd need almost an additional 7% NZD salary sacrifice to make a total of 9% AUD in Super...

Well there is a reason there were no internal applicants for the VAINZ First Officer positions. But if your standing on the outside looking in, it gets you on the bottom rung of the ladder. After that, the only way is up!

Well played minimum wage.
Yeah the company will contribute super, but only to match your contributions to a maximum of 4%. Now stick with me here.
+4 - 4 = 0
With a callsign like that you must be on the vanz negotiating team.

Bloke, it works like this:
(Now stick with me here)
Your 4% + company 4% = 8%. Simples😄
Your 4% salary deduction is matched by the company and deposited to your chosen Super Fund (Brooke's performed well!).
Much better than what was there before!
