Tiger Airways Terms and Conditions?

Does anybody out there have any firm figures with respect to the advertised jobs with Tiger Airways Australia? Particularly interested in the Command Ts and Cs. Rostering, general working conditions etc. Would be great if someone in the know could provide some information on this. Thanks

No, You need another 2 weeks to that for public holidays and another 10 days or so which accounts for normal days off whilst on leave.

$70 a month to park at Staff Parking. Overnights have returned, expect another one in June. Mostly 4 sector flying, some shifts can be quite long, others just four 1.5hr hops. Good working environment, some great people and experience lies inside Tiger.

If that information is valid, then Tiger is by far the lowest paid airline out there in aus.

Anyone know how quick to command now? Pay your own TR?

75k plus 800-1000hrs @ $36p/h = $104k to 111k

Aussie... Suggest you open your eyes.

Anyone know how quick to command now?
Again... open your fecking eyes!

In relation to paying for the endorsement, how does that work ? Do you have to pay Ansett or who ever up front and then get offered a job after being checked to line ? Are they hiring at the moment (Might sound like a stupid question, but I'm not up to date with the current situation in Australia) ?

DJ 737 FO Level 2 base currently $107k increasing to $110k in July, plus another $10k- 20k per year in allowances, giving at total of $117 - 127k per year. FO's are getting 12-16 days off per 28 days with some picking up overtime(more than 71 hrs per month) every month, and only doing around 800 hours per year.

Those FO's who are on Level 3 (2000 hours on company aircraft) are on base of $116k.

Any hiring at the moment?

Thanks for all the good, detailed info. Really helps a lot. Sounds quite good compared to low cost industry standards. Can any of you confirm whether DEC's are being taken on at the moment? Number of aircraft arriving? Recruitment plans/numbers required etc?
Have my application in but haven't heard anything yet.

Particularly interested in the Command Ts and Cs
112K base + $73 per hour + 30K bonus after 3 years

Rostering
fixed roster no longer available to new starts, i.e no 5 on 2 off 5 on 4 off

some are seeing only 9 days off per month

roster currently needs attention, very fatiguing and lifestyle limited if you are on the so called 'flexi roster'

general working conditions
ok, but poorer than J*, VB etc

Anyone know how quick to command now
there is no seniority, so time to command depends on the individual

Pay your own TR
yes

In relation to paying for the endorsement, how does that work ? Do you have to pay Ansett or who ever up front and then get offered a job after being checked to line ?
you get your TR after being given a start date. they will give u just enuff time to get it. employment subject to holding a TR

Are they hiring at the moment
interviewing, but not hiring (hold file)

Can any of you confirm whether DEC's are being taken on at the moment?
Yes DECs are being taken, but will probably stop sometime next year when there will be a pool of effos with 2+ years on type.

Number of aircraft arriving?
for the entire group: 12 from now till end of next year, then 40 more through 2015, total fleet size 68 by end 2015

They dont seem to like taking aussies flying abroad....
yes they do

Have my application in but haven't heard anything yet.
like so many others

Hi Aussie.

Shouldn't be a problem. 10,000+ and 4000+Cmmd glass over 50T. No TR though.

Anybody have the contact details of the recruitment dept, other than just the email address?

Single flasher, have a mate who is Aussie flying abroad, 15,000 hrs, flown 3 narrow bodies as Captain ( over 7000hrs ), 3 years on 320 but not as captain.
Tiger told him they can only take DECs that are current as captain on 320, he later found out they just hired a guy as DEC who has not flown for 4 years...jobs for the boys.

BTW, are you Aussie living in UK ? I don't think pilots are on the immigration list if you're not.

Good luck.

Former B767/B777 C&T Captain serving his time as FO since he didn't have an A320 rating. I believe the DEC who has 4 years off was A320 qualified. Nothing sinister there.

Okie, hongkongfooey said that Tiger told his mate they can only take DECs that are current on the A320...but obviously they made an exception for this bloke because he is well connected to someone at the top. makes me wonder how the guys in the RHS feel about this

Hongkongfooey's mate had not been a Captain on the A320. There's the difference. Currency on the A320, if you have Captain A320 on your license, only involves simulator and line training as far as I know.
