Proflite Australia and Jordan Air 737 jobs
Understand that Proflite Australia (Bankstown) website indicates the company can arrange 737 short term (500 hours) F/O jobs with Jordan Air in Amman for a fee. Seems too good to be true. Whats the real story? What minimum total time would be required and what licence. The first reply will probably say ring up the flying school and ask them. Fair question, but often Pprune sources are a bit closer to the bone without the spin..

You can be an AIRLINE PILOT and walk around with a cap and jacket and be covered in pins and badges. Women will fall to their knees in awe where ever you go.

Yes I agree with what you say. The only thing is, this has been done before and its always ended in tears for those who payed their money. i know a pilot who did exactly this with a company in Aus who sent him to an overseas airline. The training was so poor that when he found a job on a 737, he could not pass the training. Talking to him later, he told me what was taught to him and it was a total sham.
You will also find that future airlines will not be interested and no matter what time you have, you will have to pass extensive testing and demonstrate a sound ability to operate a 737. From this other guys experience, he was used and abused by the airline and staff and is now totally out of aviation. I know its not easy, but the only way is to be selected by an airline and have them have some commitment to you as one of THEIR pilots.
And to be honest, what would a flying school at BK know about airlines?
Play it safe and save your dollars, too many pilots are taken advantage of.
Cathay are recruiting cadets right now!
On a personal note, I think all flying schools need to be banned if they advertise A/C they dont have or currently fly. How many show jets on there wb page

Isn't proflite the school which boasts having an A320 SIM? Why then are they offering type ratings on the 737?

It is funny how newbie pilots get a great love for the training provider, everything they tell you must be true as they have taught you how to fly, and those instructors are so cool, they have like 1000hrs and have even flown a jet before, they are gods
Dont feel bad mate everyone has been there, you will look back on your comments when you get some experience and laugh.
I have know Proflight for a long time, and where they can cut corners they do. Its a business and the more money they can make out of you the better.
Paying for 500hrs of flight time, is not the same as buying a CPL,ATPL etc it is an unrealistic way of trying to que jump and all though it has worked for some people all it does is degrade the industries conditions even further. and a pilot with 750hrs total with 500hrs 737 time is not going to look more attractive than someone with 750hrs of experience where they had the decisions to make and problems to solve. I certainly wouldnt hire you.
Why pay for work when you can get paid to work, and the experience and enjoyment you get out of flying a bug smasher around remote regions is priceless.
I would not change the way I have stepped up through the industry for anything, it has been a great ride, even the bad bits have been a great experience.
So Disappointing

I worked for Jordan Aviation as a Captain on the G-III.
Your biggest problem with JA is their credibility. Believe what they say at your own risk. For instance, you can find an apt. for $600.00usd a month.... Yes you can, but unles you come from Bangladesh you won't want to live there. The real price for something livable is $1600.00 minimum and up. For USA standards $2600.00usd.
Then there is the docking of pay for going to training... after my long fight for this I was in the arrears 3 months. They stiffed me for that money! I joined a long list of former JA pilots suing Khashman for non payment. There are at least two lawyers in Amman that practically make a living from former JA alone. If you are desperate then plan for not being paid your last pay check.
Research how many CP's they have gone through in the last year alone!
They have a big turn over there as once you see what is happening you immediately want to leave. Also, legal (Flying) is not in their vocabulary except when it come to your contract which is subject to change at their whim. Don't believe? Then go and find out for yourself. Yes, they need you tomorrow as someone else has just bailed on them today! If you have never worked in the Arab world, you are in for a life experience you will never forget!
