YSCN Now a GAAP Airport?
Saw this NOTAM in NAIPS:
CAMDEN (YSCN)
C69/09
START APPROVAL REQUIRED FOR CIRCUIT OPERATIONS
FROM 07 200054 TO PERM
My question is, is Camden Aerodrome now a GAAP aerodrome?

I am aware that Camden has always been a GAAP airport (during tower operating hours in the weekends). I was asking if the tower now opens even on weekdays. Hope that clarifies.
Camden will be getting 7 day a week ATC during the hours of daylight as part of the latest changes to processes (discussed at length in other threads). I think it is supposed to happen by next April, but there are a few staffing issues in ATC to be sorted first (also discussed at length in other threads).

Camden ERSA entry spells out ATS hours TWR HR SAT - SUN 2300 - 0700 (1 HR earlier HDS). Public holidays on MON or FRI by NOTAM. ATC not AVBL Christmas day - CTAF procedures applies.
Camden is a GAAP but services were downgraded for various reasons many years ago to have ATS as per above.
CASA has directed Airservices that the six GAAP's, including Camden, must provide ATS by April 2010. It will be interesting to see how sufficient (qualified and experienced) controllers will be in place in time.

Camden is a GAAP all the time. When the tower is closed a bloke in a tail dragger becomes a mobile tower and takes care of proceedings. An excellent job he does keeping them all in order too.. some of them certainly need it!
Oh yes, how could I forget Jim Traffic Control. It costs nothing too
