BAe32's in Karratha

I rememeber a short while ago some people on Pprune (Skystar320 and BAE32Cheif... I think it was.. ) were talking about basing some 19 seater Jetsream's out of Karratha in March-April last year and building 5 x 1bdrm unit's somewhere near the hospital...

Whats the deal? Haven't seen the planes.. haven't seen the units...

Bae; J32-EP

If you're getting them- and are going to operate them- there..........

And they are coming from, where they "all" are- small tip from someone who wouldn't know- overhaul the engines, if not replace the bugger's...............

If you do have the brass- and are going the Kingair (or variant), forget any of the above.

Back to the J32 talk again... Some Karratha-Pannawonica thingy? Yeah, it's been talked about before, and year's later there is still no hangar, no accomodation, no aircraft.

Skystar320, I beleive this was your forte?

No the J32 cannot land on gravel strips. I fly these in SA and we investigated the possibility of FIFO in SA, and these aircraft are not certified for gravel strip operation by either BAe or CASA.
I can't answer for the J41 though, but would assume this would be the same.

I think Skystar320 and J32Chief have set up a new operation using Dunnza's Caravans. Can't tell you any more, very hush hush.

They were going to use Bizzybody's Barons but it fell through...

Wasn't the J41 operated by Nat Jet in Western Australia approved for gravel strips?
