Karratha Upgraded Runway

The upgraded runway at Karratha will be commissioned and opened for operations on Thursday morning. The runway is suitable for Code 4D aircraft up to B767/A330 size operations and is 2280m long x 45m wide.

It will also enable un-restricted B738 ops to the East Coast.

I will try and post a photo here later...

Thanks mate - but i think we can read the notams if we are interested in going there

I would rather trust the info on the notam rather than something written on here.

I cant beleive this is even a topic worth posting about

Unfortunately they built a new runway just in time for the mining boom to end!

the good 'ole KFS 172 ay topend!

I think I know who you are now.

The strip is looking much better than when I was there last, they used to be repairing and tarring the taxiway/runway while it were in use!

Must have been a bit of rain around, not as red as I remember it last!
