The chopper that flew out to find the crash said the plane was a mess. Wings off and fuselage on it's side in dense trees about 50 yards from a dirt track, but all more or less in the same heap. Pilot walked out of the scrub, and was flown back to Jabiru clinic. Second miracle getaway in as many days!

I Know The Pilot
I know the pilot, as a matter of fact it is me, scary stuff. I walked out of it just got a saw knee and bit of a limp, hoping to be back at work in a couple of weeks.

Wait some time.
Hey TOPendFLYER, glad that you are ok.
Don't go into any detail here on PPRuNe, at least not until it's all done with CASA and especially not until the insurance company has finished (an Airvan runs around $750,000 and insurance companies will do whatever they can to avoid paying out your boss). (I was witness the proceedings following an incident in another Airvan up north, feel free to PM me.)
It's great to share your experiences but let the dust settle. If you need to share your story with someone do it with a (pilot) friend who can keep his/her trap shut. Sadly you've got to look out for Number One because nobody else will do as good a job as you really. Good luck.

Closed to save Topendflyer from himself, and possible litigation.
If I were you, Topendflyer, I would make NO further public comment on this matter until investigations are complete.
Wise old TID.
