Is Alan Joyce Leaving or Moving?
Rumour has it that a replacement is being sought for Alan Joyce.
If this is the case then he is either going to be the next QF CEO or he is leaving Jet* to seek other challenges.

God help Qantas if Allan Joyce becomes CEO ....he makes Scrotum Face look like a choir boy.
Worst thing about Joyce is his youth...if he became QF CEO he would be around for along time.
Either/Both Borghetti and Gregg would leave if this "mini me" takes the reigns.
Just when you think things cant get any worse a rumour like this surfaces.

Why would they replace Dixon with Joyce?
Just more of the same 'ol, same 'ol from Joyce if he replaced Dixon.
The Dixon plan is dead!
No more WorkChoices!
No more AWA's!
Qantas' cost base to near that of JetStar!
A Federal Government no longer as beholdant to the big end of town!
A massive looming problem finding enough pilots!
How about a new CEO that actually engages staff and does something to grow the business!
Now there's a novel concept!

Dixon is retiring.
They need a replacement.......Borghetti,Gregg,Joyce....or...someone else.

Joyce isn't leaving - he will be the next QF CEO. If he were leaving, he would have taken the Aer Lingus job when it was offered to him. Personally I am a fan and hope he gets it. He knows all areas of the airline and is a smart operator. Working with JQ, he had to get costs down. With QF, he won't have to do that. His track record with JQ speaks for itself.
If one of the three is picked, what makes you think anything will be different? I think you will find they will all continue the plan set in place by Dixon.
I would prefer him to Gregg, who will just slash and burn everything. I like Borghetti and wouldn't mind if he gets the gig.

Unfortunately Little Al holds his cards very close to his chest. However there is no doubting his ambition.
He is a remarkable fellow and I would prefer him any day over Dixon. Dixon is a loathsome thing, rarely smiling unless he has once again screwed his staff, and his success(???) is more a product of fortuitous circumstances than good management.
As for the entire QF management, empowered by the previous government's industrial relations policies, they are what I term "Militant Management". In the 'old days' union leaders and their scrofulous members held the title of "Militant", but QF management have it by the sharp bits now! Not just by the way staff are treated, but by the entire spectrum of their deeds: To their shareholders, passengers & customers, and their staff. Shame!
They as a collective whole are intrinsically short-sighted and greedy! The "Spirit of Australia" - God help our nation!!!
My biggest problem with A.J. is his view of the Jetstar culture. There is lots to like about the way he conducts his business, however our customers are our guests, and it's not Aussie culture to treat your guests with disdain. For example messy cabins, and all too frequently a lack of catering and generally poor communication (read service)! I don't care if they 'keep coming back' because of cheap fares - I am sickened to the core and left entirely embarrassed by the way our guests are treated.
Lastly, as much as I like AJ, I fear for QF if he takes the sweet seat. AJ has succumbed to the above mentioned greed. I state this categorically as observed by his actions; namely accepting massive pay increases and bonuses, whilst ensuring other's are kept low (The LCC mantra). He assumes (and has stated) that he 'deserves' higher pay. A salary on par with his peers because of his.........job. AJ does what he does because that's his........job. He demonstrates his greed by not leading by example (research Air NZ management for comparison). He expects EVERYONE (at least close to everyone) to accept lower wages compared to their peers, but either fails, deludes himself, or just doesn't care that he is the exception. Perhaps lower pay is the way LCCs can succeed, but he has FAILED to lead by example and consequently will FAIL his employers - the QF shareholders.
If only the board would have a good hard look across the Tasman and see how a company can be turned around and transformed. Qantas, as it is now, is but mere shadow of what it could truly become if it had a truly great leader!

the next QF CEO will be an external candidate. The headhunters are hard at work right now. Each EGM will be considered, however, both big Pete and tiny John have had their chances to shine and they both snuffed out.
As for AJ, well he just does what GD tells him. He does not have what is required; that is well known particularly in the credibility stakes with the big end of town. Many of the presenters on this site claim to be "in touch", well ask around. They will tell you.
Further, the media see him as a scruffy, limp hand-shaking little man lacking the presence that a top Australian company chief requires. Ask your media mates!
As for the Irish airline offer.....Do you really think it was offered to him, or did he receive a call from a head hunter seek an expression of interest. Reality gents. If he had been offered, he would have accepted. Its called ego, and this little man has lots of it!

Handing control to AJ will bring NO new vision to mainline, if anything he'll further promote his "own baby" to Qantas mainlines detriment.
If an airline can make record profits with a disengaged workforce one can only imagine what an new CEO with vision would produce.

dont think
he be interested at the moment. even if he stay at p**n* he will collect a tidy base/bonuses etc. going north of A$ 2 million this year. i dont think air lingus can match that.in addition there are additional goodies,like chairmans lounge, lots of FF points, car etc.
