Would love to see this thread being updated regularly for all us newbies. I know I can search the register for operators, ( and have got quite a substantial list I might add) but I would also love to hear about the conditions at some of these operators.
Definitely at the moment as from the outside looking in, everything looks like the almost perfect job.

Gero is no good mate. You'd have better luck either side at Jurien or Kalbarri.
Apparently there are a lot of newbie pilots in Broome at the moment waiting for a start. It seems that he industry has bit a lull again.

I don't know if Slingair should still be on that list.
It looks as though they're now called Aviair and have a fleet of only caravans so not sure they're interested in fresh CPL's.

Did you not think to apply to Jet Star?!? There only the biggest airline in OZ that takes fresh CPL's straight out of flight school!

Jobs seem to be hard to come by atm and not just for newbies. I would suggest one way to get a start, assuming you are a fresh CPL would be to aim for the smaller scenic flight companies, there's a few around the place that will take you with bare CPL. You can try and get lucky at the larger charter operators that occasionally hire low hour guys/gals but you'll be competing against 20 other pilots doing the same thing.
IMO the best way would be to get an instructor rating, do it somewhere that will give you a job afterward and get 500-1000hrs total time that way... then go charter. You may also enjoy the benefits of living in a major centre, retain some semblance of an ordinary life and perhaps even arrive at your final career goal with some shred of dignity left intact

- Stick and rudder flying
- Not much CTA / procedure to worry about while learning the other flying basics
- Nowhere to waste your money
- Gain some self respect by doing an honest day's work
- Perfect lead up for your second GA charter job, which is more easily obtained with station experience
Approach a station pilot job with a can-do attitude, alacrity and a minimum 6 month commitment and your career will be off to a great start.

Is much happening in Darwin? I know for a fact that Broome is fairly quiet with a few guys with time up, sitting around or even left town after most of the year spent looking.

You would be VERY lucky to get a job heading into the wet season with NO wet season experience or less than 800TT.
Territory Air Services take pilots with less than that but I think they are well stocked at the moment.

Station job requirements are highly variable. The ones I see require anything from PPL and a good attitude to CPL and 200hrs. Can't say I've ever seen one requiring 300TT.
