Malcom that's what I often think, "those days without GPS where fun". Todays younger gen pilots wouldn't remember using off trk aids & DR too much I think for ETA's & G/S's. In fact I'd be hard pressed to fly without one now !
I like the bit about yr somewhat smooth head. The odd times that I've flown into HML on a sunny day I've had to drop down the sun visor due sun reflection off a certain persons head ! I believe yr a 'Beacon' Malcom in more ways than one, many I've spoken to over the years have said you shown the way for many a lost aviator !
What ever happened to that young guy you had working for you a while back now that lived & breathed the PA31's you had there based at POD? A senior pilot although young?
Good luck with yr expansion M

Flyitboy.
Enough you guys of the bald jokes, my mates around here said I must have forgotten to put the windscreen in during my early years!!
I think the guy you are talking about is PB 41 y/o now (same as me so thanks for calling him young that will make up for the bald jokes!!) who many guys know as a great Chief Pilot and he spent some time in Adelaide in his early years. Unfortunately he was diagnosed with the big "C" some 2 years ago now and is taking some time off to get in sorted!! We are all gunning for him......he is the Lance Armstrong of aviation so if anyone can beat it he will .
Best Wishes,
MS.

okay Mal, enough said on yr somewhat 'glareing' problem
Yes it was PB, although I thought he was younger (like yrself) then again it was a few years ago now when I used to see him at POD. I hope that he beats the cr*p out of that "C" word, nasty thing it is but the mind is a very powerful tool!
I trust that those keen on coming aboard yr new expansion are flooding in, I hope so 'cause it's a tough world out there now for employers
Again good luck.

p.s how are you ever going to work out who's who in here Mal? we know you

A great spot on "Business Sunday" Ch 9, last weekend for the airline.
Good to see the proprietors looking well, especially Sobes, but I guess only the good die young! Do you still ask that same question to calm the nerves of students on their first dual nav into Moorabin?
Sorely tempted to apply, but it's too cold down there.
All the best for a happy and prosperous expansion to a couple of great characters.
