Yeah, go next door instead and get a $5500 bond for a BN2 or a PA31. There are plenty of jobs going according to their website. You're bound to get one of them even if you aren't qualified or experienced.

i know some guys who have been there, all onto better things now
but the stories they told of their treatment and the hidden costs they were presented with, with regards to type ratings, leaves a foul taste in my mouth
pilots , take a stand and avoid this operator

Inverted Airvans
Its only 4 grand for the airvan check to line and if you're a good bargain man you can get them down to less than 2!!
They really are just like a big lazy 152, although I have seen some collossally screwed up landings in them!!
Im just glad the company I work for has the wonderful little phrase "all training and aircraft conversion training costs shall be covered by the company" etched in the Ops Manual

i agree with all you have to say

i have heard of 1 guy who did the training and was then handed a documents staing this is what you owe us
Come on bushflight pilots stand up for yourselves, you tolerate it now, it makes it harder for the next guy...
for once in the history of aviation, our services are in high demand, grow a back bone and tell mr bushflight where to stick it, whats he going to do sack the lot of you
i dont think so
shame on you mr bushflight

Damn right Dell!
Seems things changed after NC moved on. He got them the main contract and just like he, it also departed for better pastures. Much like the rest of the original 'Bread-van' drivers, regulations, standards, c206 pods, customers, etc etc etc.

hey wiz, thanks for that
remaining bushflight pilot(s), do yourselves a favour and find an operator who can make money out of his aircraft, as it seems mr bushflight needs to supplement his income by taking money out of your pockets, whilst he pays a below award wage....
anyone ever seen a bonus???
times are too good to be putting up with this sort of rubbish, jobs for low time guys almost daily on afap..
there is no need to be treated the way you are..

Ok capt' Inspironi, thats a big low brow, bagging the crew out. I happen to know all of them very well and they're a good bunch of blokes who do their best under trying circumstances. The GM fits all of your descriptions there to a tee, I will give you that, but who on the actual crew are u refering to with your comment that they:
Lack any standards
Put themselves before customers
Break CASA rules
Lose customers
Its fine to bag out a management structure, or lack thereof, but if you're going to knock the crew, back it up!!
Oh yeah, it was $18000 bond for the floats not $15000 as someone quoted.

$18000
for a float endorsement, what is it an amphibious embraer
malley
my problem is these guys are in position not too far from slavery, they get a job there and then cant afford to leave as the bond is too high, so hence they get stuck there, whilst there is all this movement around them.
bonding at this level in the industry in my opinion is completely unacceptable, im so vocal about all of this because i have known a couple of guys who have been thru mr bushflights world and it took them some time to get back on their feet..
i agree lets encourage people to bypass derby and i agree again lets get these blokes jobs
ppruners if you know of some leads lets place these pilots
bushflight pilots hold on, we will try and lead you to greener pasture

Is this the company that teaches turn backs? Take an almost empty, well performing cessna single, take off on a 2000m runway, fail the engine at 500' and complete a turnback to show how "real bush pilots can save the day".
What a joke. It proves why someone with mainly private flying experience shouldn't run a commercial operation.
His 200 hour newbie will have an engine failure one day, on a hot day in a MTOW aircraft, on a 600m runway and think he can safely complete a turnback. I CAN NOT BELIEVE that someone without any training qualifications is teaching young hour guys what has been proven over the years to be an horrifically dumb and usually fatal mistake, namely stall spin crash burn die. I hope he realises he is playing with people's lives.

westernman, good onya mate for tellin em where to stick it, like you say they can threaten all they like nothing is going to come of it these things dont tend to get well in the courts for operators, and should it come to that it may be time to inform the regualtor of just what is going on up there, turnbacks how f*kn ridiculous, sounds like CAO 48 doesnt apply to mr bushflight as well
who would be silly enough to get bonded for $18000 for a float job, if i was that guy i would quietly pack my bags and leave town (jobs are plentiful without ridiculous bonds) and never mention to anyone again that i had worked for mr bushflight, its not going to help get another job anyway
i have to say im enjoying all of this, KARMA is a word adrian and rod and here it comes, you reap what you sow, i said it in a previous thread, your employees are your greatest asset, but yet you still dont listen
