G1000 V's Colins Proline 21 for C90

Garmin having recently launched a retrofit option for the C90 Kingair, which interestingly, has a full EICAS setup. I was wondering how the G1000 compares with the Collins Pro-Line 21 system as offered in the new build C90GT.

Just wondering why Hawkerbeechcraft didnt offer the G1000 for new build C90's and 200/350's. I believe the G1000 is an order of magnitude cheaper than the Collins system, and looks more capable.

At a first pass, they're both great kit but IMHO pitched different levels.

Get right down into the specs, especially interoperability and connectivity with the aircraft systems, particukarly the A/P and FMS if you have one.

Thats where the the vipers live, and it is never never simple. You would have to consider a full review of the real retro cost against a new or later model aircraft with the same sort of gear before you race off and spend the money. A sows ear dressed in silk, with bling ear rings even, is still a sows ear.

Ahhh yes.......Our good friend 'interoperability!'

Does anyone know what level interoperability/connectivity these two breeds offer re: TCAS, TAWS, ADSB etc.

What sort of options/gear do the RFDS QLD section 200's have fitted?
