From today's The National newspaper; get these guys into government.
THE Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is looking into “chaos” experienced by several Air Niugini aircraft during the weekend.
Chief executive officer Joseph Kintau, however, said Papua New Guinea had a good safety record and that they “just had to tidy up”.
“We have a strong regulatory arm (CAA),” he said when referring to some problems encountered by Air Niugini aircraft.
On Saturday, a Fokker 100 flight from Port Moresby to Lae encountered a pressurisation problem, causing some passengers to suffer from ear-bleeding.
Last Friday, several flights out of Port Moresby were rescheduled and tempers flared.
Many passengers were returning to their home provinces to vote.
Mr Kintau said the industry had been hit hard in the last few months after Airlink was grounded and Airlines PNG reduced its services in order to meet certain CAA regulations.
He said CAA was also conducting audits on Airlines PNG and Air Niugini.

Suppose they are still saints compared to their "aviation" (I use that term loosely) neighbours in Madang. A mate up here told me they are trying to get the Flight Attendants back from APNG to operate the ATR again...... Wouldn't you start at the other end of the aircraft and try to get pilots first?
The last Check Captain on the ATR wont be back, said it was, quote, "The most unprofessional, professional company, he's EVER worked for!" He's now in India flying the same types, what does that tell you?
To their credit they have sacked all the "B's" now just the CP and the Quality Manager to go and the place should turn the corner, good luck to those left.

Airlink gets OK to spread its wings
By SHEILA LASIBORI
THIRD Level airline, Airlink can now take to the skies, courtesy of clearance by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
Airlink was reissued with its air operator certificate (AOC) after CAA was satisfied with the outcome of audit into the airline.
Airlink was grounded since last May 27.
The move was taken so that the CAA could conduct an audit of the company’s engineers, pilots and ground operations as required under CAA Rule Part 119.
Airlink yesterday confirmed that its management had met with CAA on Tuesday and informed of the AOC, which takes affect as of next Monday.
Airlink previously had busy schedules in the Highlands and Momase regions.
It would have been heavily engaged in election duties if its aircraft were not grounded.
CAA chief executive officer Joe Kintau confirmed his officers had met with the Airlink management and advised it of the AOC.
He said CAA was satisfied with the corrective action Airlink had undertaken.
“We are satisfied and we have given them six months to operate before a full compliance audit will be conducted,” Mr Kintau said.
He added that this compliance audit would be conducted to see if Airlink complies with directives from the CAA, emanating from the latest audit.
In recent times, a few Airlink aircraft were involved in a number of crashes, a couple of them fatal, prompting the CAA to mount and audit into the airline’s operations.

Well it's nearly a full year since P2-ALK had its last flight...
I thought you might like to know what it looks like now. It has recently emerged from PBF where it has been undergoing seriously major overhauling. It is now sporting a totally new unique paint job - ready for it?!
My favourite mural...
It has found a new home outside the Goroka aeroclub holding pride of place next to the swings.
RIP ALK...

C'mon, hasn't anyone got any tales to tell? Where's Chimbu Chuckles these days...?
Never had the pleasure(?) of flying with Scarelink personally but heard plenty. One of my favourites was from a passenger watching the crew (one of whom struggled to even reach the controls) arguing over which way to go when they came to a valley junction in bad weather!
Shame the Bandits didn't make it to the desired 16,000hrs TBO...

Gibson Galo is back in Solomons as a part time Capt on the DHC-6 with Solair. He had an interview with Airniugini a few weeks ago.
Hi Balusmungimasta,
We heard you are running a whore haus in Cambodia, hows the business going? We still think you and friends C.B & M.A should be in jail for what you did to Airlink. Lost some good friends there hope one day justice will find you
Good luck with the 2kina cambomeri business.
