WIN Insurance ? Anyone head of them?

Esteemed aviators...

A friend who runs a flying school has recently got a quote from a company called WIN insurance (Worldwide Insurance Network), based in New Zealand. They are backed by a company called Hemisphere Insurance. They had a stand at a recent aviation event and were lined up near QBE and Vero. There are many operators using them in Australia I am lead to believe.

The concern is that the quote they have provided is around half the price of the alternate companies and as they are fairly new on the Aussie market he / we were worried that there is no history or payouts here.

Has anyone dealt with this company in NZ or OZ and can you provide information on dealing with them?

Any info greatly appreciated.

PM me if you don't wish to post.

Thanks.

Sure
Win has been in operation about 2 years in OZ .

services lower end of GA market eg ultralights and hulls less than $500,000 value and liabilities less $10,000,000.
Underwriter is a registered NZ insurance company.
Re claims, a/c in which a well known BK flying school owner & AOPA identity was fatally injured was a claim paid out by WIN as well as third party claim of a/c on the aerodrome which also suffered damage as result of above accident

PM me for more details.

I have had dealings with people associated with this company. They do not pay their claims. They are based in the Philippines. Three companies associated with this company have been banned from Public liability insurance in the Philippines.

Public warned against fraudulent gsis agents
The Philippine Consulate General in Sydney informs the General Public of New South Wales that three private individuals have been mis-representing the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) of the Philippines in securing reinsurance contracts in London and Australia.
Efren O. Docena, Roberto C. Ibasco, and Arnulfo R. Madriaga have been securing reinsurance contracts and claims without the authority of the GSIS. The three men are either retired from the GSIS or not even connected with the GSIS.
GSIS President and General Manager Robert G. Vergara posted a notice warning the public against Efren O. Docena, Roberto C. Ibasco, and Arnulfo R. Madriaga. The GSIS has not authorized Messrs. Docena, Ibasco and Madriaga, either individually or in concert, to enter into any Reinsurance Agreement or Contract on behalf of the GSIS.
