No that thread goes on about the sustainability of it I just wondered if every one thought the AIRSHOW was OK this time. (could not believe it was two years ago this question asked) seemed a bit better but did not make Friday night and was it OK?

I ventured over to AV on the saturday, to have a bit of alook around.
IMHO, I think its about time there be something different to look at. Have been to three now, and most of the aircraft present have been there before. Don't get me wrong, the fighter jocks put on a great show, and the aeros are good too, but would prefer to see something new and different there next time.
How about all the RAAF FA18s parked out the back do a formation show, or the C130 drop some stuff out the back using the parachute drogue system?? I dont know, something new - something we havent seen before.
But having said that, good day had by all, except it was bloody cold!!
PS2A

I went Sunday and have similar comments to PS2 but that being said it was still pretty good and pretty much all re-occurring Airshows suffer from the same repeatedness. Not sure how many were there but it seemed like a couple of hundred thousand and it was *very* busy.
A few Jetstar arrivals and departures broke it up a little and it was good to see the Q747 takoff in the middle of the show being so close to it on the crowd line. I was a little disappointed that it didn't come back for a high speed fly-by.
That mediaum Italian freighter military thing was the most impressive thing I've seen for a while. A bit smaller than a Herc, Herc looking with 2 engines and it was doing barrel rolls and wingovers - quite impressive!

Legitimate
The N.T. Police also have one of those. There is a legitimate need for them to have something like that. (if the WA Police airwing have got themselves sorted out. Their record with the 310 was not good)
There is a huge area out there, and many nasty things happen way outback.
I once did a medivac and was told when en route that the patent and the nurse were barricaded inside the clinic, and people were on the roof, trying to get in. The patient had been stabbed, but he had killed the other man. The police had been called, but would take four hours to get there.

NT Police have got two PC12's, one in Darwin and the other in YBAS.
WA Police have got two, one in Jandakot and the other in Karratha.
The one at Avalon was the one from Karratha. It's got an in-flight opening door - first of it's type in the world.
Both the WA ones were purchased new.

Dawn,
So is the paratroop door certified then? I knew they had plans but seems quick.
I'd imagine the WA police are trying mightily to stop it from getting scratched. I can imagine the reaction landing at some of the wilder outback destinations.

The yank commentary to the F15 display was an absolute embarrasment though. Somebody needs to tell the git he sounds like a right d!ckhead.
couldn't agree more. A group of us standing near a speaker listening to that load of self adulating drivel looked at each other and shook our head is disbelief. But at least the F15 flying display was awesome to watch.
