The yank commentary to the F15 display was an absolute embarrasment though.

Usaf F-15
I thought the F-15 demo was great, I haven't seen that many people laughing simultaneously for a long time!
Sounded like he watched far too many G.I.Joe adverts when he was young, the only thing missing was the 'Team America' theme song on their soundtrack
Note that it was a tape recording for US airshow audiences, so patriotic it was embarrasing
Also note that 2 F-22 Raptors were due down but cancelled by the organizers at the last minute...rumour is they didn't want F-22s showing up the Surper-Bugs now that the RAAF have purchased 24 of em'. Don't quote me on that one however....
The 4-ship FA-18 formation was good, the F-111 was great (as always) and the Italian Spartan was very impressive for an aircraft of that size, but I agree with above comments that something different is needed.

THREE exhaust ports/donk for Connie, 3 turbochargers, but I do agree about the night departures, spekky!! Petrol head heaven.
And I DID get some pics of the departures, all you can see is a LOT of flame.

That being the case I stand corrected however I was told by some of the trade-day regulars that it was recorded. Either way I found it a great laugh, I doubt they'll ask him back in future though

The Airservices people involved with the airshow are interested in feedback from anyone who flew in, specifically comments on the AIP SUP, flight path documents on the airshow website (link below still works), the VFR arrival procedures and holding areas for Barwon Prison, Little River Mouth & Clifton Springs, ATC etc.

Their AIS people at [email protected] have passed on some comments received to the relevant people.

Chronic Snozer
The in-flight opening cargo door on the PC12 is certified - but has not been used in anger yet , but is certified for use up to FL250. With the cyclone season up north it may be used in the event of a supply drop / SAR requirement. Still tweeking the SOP's regarding it's use

Granted the Super Bug is a good bit of kit, but the F111 and F15 still put on a better show. I was hoping the F22s would make an appearance since they were in the region but I was not surprised when they didn’t and the same show from the 1990s was put on. It was still ok, but not worth the time (traffic/travel) and money (entry/accommodation).
Imagine an Airshow where the latest Sukhoi and Raptor do a fly-off. Throw in an A380 demo, the Blue angels or thunder bitds and a few VLJs and it might be worth going to another.
I have to mention that the ADF put on an impressive show with the equipment they currently operate. The flying standard displayed indicated that they are still the world leaders. Made me very proud.
Re the commentary - It’s going to be a looooong stint in Iraq if the yanks project that arrogance to the locals.

What about Chuck Yeager breaking the sound barrier for the 60th anniversary, whilst inverted in the AC500 piloted by Bob Hoover with both donks in feather and Dean Schafer doing his wing walk! Now that was something else !................ or was i bored frozen witless and at the Bar too long!!

Must have missed the 4-ship FA18 fly past. Probably inside chatting up the Airbus gals, and getting my hands on as many freebys as i could.
Any hoo, am in agreeance about the Blue Angels. They are just something else!! Or even the Thunderbirds with their explosive ejector seats would be great to witness.
But the Spartan was amazing! Sitting there and thinking it was just another Herc doing a coupla slow and fast fly-bys. . . . but then she rolls, and does some wingovers. Looked like the italian boys were having fun!! Or maybe a little too much pizza and wine the night before?!
