Nah, nothing dodgey, it was taken a while back on the way past, just an interesting cloud formation.

Piano Man paints a very rosy picture!

However, when the wind is up and the tide is crap, it's all hands on deck!

Like most jobs, there are good days and bad!

Capt Fathom;

So very true...it's very rare the camera comes out on the 25kt plus wind days especially if the plane is dragging you down beach. But when the weather was as good as in the above photo...well it happens to be one of the best jobs going!

I believe ZDA is serial #803 the YY-#### serial was used for military Beavers (Models U-6A and U-6B) with the year making up the first part of the number.

I'm not entirely sure about the history of the serial number designations and how they were spread about the various models but I'm sure there are some people on these forums more knowledgeable than myself that may be able shed some light on this.

Yep 1954 is correct. Serial number 803. Air Whitsunday have an even earlier one though!

ZDA started out life as an airforce aircraft and on one of her wings you can still see the old bomb mounts.

Wow. It looks so new. Must say, well maintained!

There must be many stories that have been told about this aircraft.

From the early 1960's - VH-BCG at that time at YBVA - anyone know if this is the same one now restored to RAAF colours here?
