Talking of 767s and speed.....G/S not too bad for getting to the pub early:

Don't like this view at stupid o'clock in the morning:

Taken from the 'wrong' seat but where is it (clue: not in Oz):

Where is it? Getting more difficult for ya:

Interesting the way the cloud/fog has formed on the windward side of the islands (well, a little bit interesting anyway):

And where are we now?

I know, bloody awful photographer but I can try and do your wedding pics with my iPhone if you like

FJ44, you can pick that tomato head a mile off in that open cockpit.

Pontious, that looks like Dale Kerrigan's place out of The Castle in the last picture!

Pontius....

The last 3 pictures look like Dalian, China. The landing is the "offset" ILS onto RW 28.

FL610, no mate, not RCTP. Think mainland China

Capt Chambo, you score 1 point for Dalian (that being the photo with the houses on the other side of the runway). The landing at DLC Rwy 28 no longer has any offsets, it's 283 all the way (I put that in because I'm showing off that I can now read a plate ).

So, any takers for the beach location and the hazy landing in China (although that is asking a LOT, unless you actually fly there)?

WWWW, Dale Kerrigan? The Castle? Time for me to break out Google

A closer look at the last pic. makes me think it might be R/W 35 Qingdao/Tsingtao/ZSQD....

Had a "senior moment". Dalian R/W28 has always been aligned, I was thinking of R/W10 which has an ILS offset by 3 degrees to account for a small hill to the north of the runway centre line, it also has a higher than usual minimum, and a displaced landing threshold.

At risk of going completely off topic.... Dalian was very noticeably not WGS84 compliant. This meant that LNAV was notoriously inaccurate for both arrivals and departures. It has become better over the years but still beware.

Gold stars for the both of you

Yes, Capt Chambo, TAO it is. Standard smog and sulphur smell below 5000'. Glad I don't have to live anywhere in China You're right about DLC. It has got better and I tend to use GPS and LNAV but I do still back it up with the VOR and make sure I'm not being lied to

And, yes, Ftrplt gets it right going out to 08R at HNL. Normally some off-duty USN guys doing some sort of water sports just to the right of the taxyway.

A perfect example of why you should never ever design an aircraft when you only have a corner of a desk available to draw

Which strips are those?
Always have loved the blue and green and turquoise colours of the reefs.
The last, wet, one reminds me of Nausori, but haven't been there for nearly 20 years..
