A question for Chuckles or the good Dr.. These things have an olympic pool sized oil tank sitting up behind the panel, just wondering how much heat it threw back into the cabin?

Not nearly enough!

The heater was U/S and it was a bit chilly up front.

Using a GPS in a 195 is obscene. If you blokes were real airmen you would be able to navigate using a pencil and paper and one of those sliderule things.

Absolutely Bushy-it was a battle royal to limit Forkie to only one portable GPS

There was a poster at Warrnambool that basically said our dicks would fall off if we relied too much on GPS-that got a laugh.

WACs & 2D pencil

Bushy,

I'm sure you are just s***stirring ,but the Doc can push a 2d 'round a WAC with the best of them.....he's just got lazy in his twighlight years....he used to be a magician with a wizz-wheel...but ditto.

Finding obscure strips outback used to be his specialty before GPS...now he can't be bothered to unneccassarily strain the brain.

Flopt.

Cool Chuck with a map

Chuck and I had an in flight emergency in the 185 a few weeks back. The GPS battery went flat and where ever we were neither of us had been there before. I introduced Chuck to a map of the area and the sby compass. Well my compass turns were not flash but we ended up bang on course to Raglan for lunch. So he can still do it if need be

Is Raglan (Vic) the strip that's not where it is on the map? Unless they redid the charts.
It's a little to the east of its printed location if I remember correctly.
I'll never forget my instructor diverting me there, I was right over where it should be and couldn't find it.

Aye Ess..... You do have an eye for detail indeed Chocky frog to you!

This was a relocation taxi past the big fella taking the pics, and these days I do not trust high speed housing construction bugs.....Shoulda seen the folk having a meltdown when I started up with the cover on. At least they were vigilant!

FTDK and morno.....you need attention to detail lessons from Aye Ess, its taxiing not flying!

Are you sure that's Jaba? He doesn't seem to be wearing his horizontal striped shirt. I wouldn't have been able to start it without him when I was in it. You need to be a qualified electrical engineer to even consider trying to.

We had ECH Tower convinced to give Jaba taxi instructions that would have left him miles away from the real airplanes facing away in disgrace-but Jaba arrived late and he was knocked off for the evening.

Some where there are pics of me bringing JTM in- there were that many people with phallic lenses it wasn't funny.
