Me flying CGG in formation with EFB enroute from a great lunch at Raglan back to North Shore where Sarge now has CGG ensconced - much more handy than Wanaka when on a 48 hr AKL layover

Great weekend of 185ing around the North Island. NZ is just an awesome place for taildragging Cessnas. While standing on a hill at Davenport overlooking AKL harbour on Saturday morning a Spitfire whistled past too.

EFB has G500 fast glass and an Stec 55X autopilot - flashest C185 in the land of the long white cloud.

Dulacca?...no , but...

In about 1971 the FTDK and I visited that strip as passengers...we had not yet commenced aviating [prob. in DDN]...

The owner of Dulacca West put on a 10 gal keg for Betty Windsor's birthday which six of us did our best to honour.....

Next day he went back to the strip and did his three circuits in the C172 for his 12 months "currency"....which was all that was required in those days apparently.

I distinctly remember he didn't even kick the tyres...[or walk around ,drain fuel, check oil]...just got in started up and flew three circuits.....

I suppose there are still a few people who do that....

You musta been there Jaba..'nuther clue...

I'm sure you would have been here....often see a FTDK parked there, belongs to Malcolm Fraser....[the good bloke, not the daft ex PM].

It would be a 1hr flight SW from Agnes Water in the RV.
