Yes about 300 odd hrs in FTJ.......... back up aircraft for charters. She is/was a very tight Aztec and although the Aztec gurus say the best model was the E, I had a soft spot for this one. Safe and happy flying mate.

Not bitchy at all mate, just being cheeky about how you guys were able to fly the pants of these things into the most difficult places and I am in awe of the skill.

Just thought you may have been cheeky in posting something like that too if lead astray a little

J I musta been tired when I posted that.

I watched those bush flying vids you linked to...I experienced a strange 'hollow' feeling of loss...I really, REALLY miss those days. career wise nothing else has, or I suspect will, ever come close for pure fun and job satisfaction.

Tinny I only ever used the plantation strip on Kar Kar.

I couldn't remember another strip on Kar Kar island and just went and dragged out my old topographical maps for PNG...nothing shown other than the plantation strip on the NW side of the island...I do remember a strip called Daup but it doesn't appear to be on Kar Kar Is.

ABX, I believe this is what you are talking about:

I believe they are a formation aerobatic team, that decided to do something a little extreme. Pretty talented pilots if you ask me. Thats a 2.5t machine kissing the water. See it on video here too: (Hope this link works)

Good old aeroplanes

Those water ski-ing Harvards are about sixty years old, and obviously still in good shape. And with some very skilful pilots.

Hi PS2A_yay et al,

I actually had that link incorporated into my text, however I did enjoy checking it out again when I clicked your link - thanks!

Just wondering if bird strike would be an increased risk during that little demonstration? Check out the bird that flies in front of the planes at 00:48 sec in the video...

Also, do they have the park brake on so that the wheels ski on the water, or is it off so that they spin and aquaplane across the water? (Has anyone here actually done it?)

Great video with good music to it.
