Gotta open them to get the fuel. I don't think they have an aircraft any more, and the old manager has moved to granite, so his aircraft went with him. I can probably identify most of the station hangers and strips in the west....... as your probably aware.

Grandpa Aerotart
Kamalai was one of my favorite strips...always fun to catch up with Father Abel.
I will see what I can dig out.
These two were taken one morning at Kamalai when I went up there to salvage an Islander that had crashed there a few weeks prior. You can see what was left on the left side of the first piccy.

In the above piccy we are standing on the threshold...where it drops near vertically for a couple of thousand feet. An interesting place to land in bad weather. I think I was flying Twotter P2-RDY that day.
Unloading RDY another day at Fane. A skinnier version of me on the left...cannot remember the old mission priest's name at Fane...only that he had been there since the 1930s.

An excellent pic collection of someone's trip from California to Oshkosh and back, with commentary.

Way too late, but my guess for the golf balls was also Gero. Flew past those a fair few times...
Everyone (i.e. pax) always thinks Pine Gap is the only place that has 'em...
Ok how about these...
Now I know Wiz will get a couple these right off the bat...

A rather nice visitor to the 'other' side of the airport...

Nice surprise at Lake Wanaka NZ

Weekend flying from JT quite a few years ago...

Anyone who flies out of PH regularly will recognise this place...!

(Just gave the links coz I couldnt get the pictures to fit on the page, even though they are not large image files)
